I have been the Chairman of the TeAm AnandTech Committee for several years and have decided that it is time to let someone else have all the fun.

We need nominations for the position, then we can arrange a vote.

The winner gets to work with Petrusbroder and Tom Philippart.

Please post nominations is this thread and TAC will take it from there.

Fred, I'm confused. Are you looking for someone to replace you as chairman? Presumably Tom or Peter would take that position, right?

We need to be three in the TAC.
Fred was elected chairman and wer other two (Tom P. and myself) were/are very happy about that. I do not think it is such a hard work: to be founder of TeAm AnandTech in new projects and to become new founder when the old one doesn't want to anymore ...
The most important work is to be the holder of the TAC-wallet which has all the passwords needed.

I thought it was time to explain why I want to retire.

Recent x-rays have shown a mass in my right lung. It's about the size of Alaska.

I am currently in isolation, being treated for TB. (I've been positive in one test and negative in three tests.) Results of two more tests are due today.

If the mass doesn't shrink in the next few weeks, then I will get a biopsy. That would mean that I might have both cancer and TB.

So, don't feel sorry for me. I've had a good life and expect to have much more.

Let's get on with the committee selection process and find a replacement for Toody!

Another negative test result.

So, I have TB but I am not contagious so I should get out of isolation next week.

They expect Alaska to become Rhode Island.

I am officially out of isolation (one hour ago.) However, I also stopped the treatment because of tachycardia (which is triggered by the interaction with: my antidepressant, my cheese, and my tuna fish.)

I missed the last holiday party by two hours.

I'm looking for a better TB drug. The one they insist I take conflicts with 678 other drugs!

Other than that, life is good!

Oh, and while I was in isolation I refused entry to my apartment by the manager so he kicked the door into my face. The police say they are still investigating. What's to investigate, check the hall security camera!

Shortly after I reported this to the police, the manager posted an eviction notice on my door in retaliation. That's still hanging over me.

Fortunately, the day before this mess started, an eminent mathematician agreed to check my latest math proof! He is still checking, so I think I finally did something right!

Tonight I will be posting an approach to solving the 3x+1 conjecture that I haven't been able to get to because of the tachycardia (which has abated enough that I can now focus.)

Well I don't hear GLeeM backing out of it yet, so I suppose I +1 nominate GLeeM on that basis! Anybody like to nominate themselves? I'm sure these aren't the only members who would be suitable by any means...

While we still have two weeks until the end of the month, that would allow R.T. to retire and the new guy can learn the ropes of the TAC.
