just received a few emails from colleagues who have their degrees in their email signatures. I thought these were pretty lame.

One dood signs it like he graduated from the UK:

John Smith, M.Sc

Lady actually puts her BA and major in her sigs lol
Janet Kelly, BA (economics), MA (journalism)

any other lame interesting sig stories to share?

My wife's friend put BA after her name and then put (MA candidate). It was really pathetic. I also laugh when people put MBA after their name.

Its not surprising to me at all, looking at the state of the education in this country, receiving a college degree for most of the ppl is like a rocket science...

I can't say i've actually seen someone throw their degree/level in their signatures .. and I worked at the University for a while.

I know current students that do this, but I don't think that's no stranger than putting the company you work for in there.

Post-graduation though.....

Kind of odd, but then again, I never look at signatures, unless I need to reference a phone number ... some techs/contractors we deal with have some of the longest signatures i've ever seen...it's almost like they're looking for new jobs with a mini resume down there.

Copied this out of a coworker's signature...

It might be a little overboard, but I personally don't believe putting professional certs in a signature is too bad. Though I have to laugh at the bottom row of his certs -- the top row is pretty impressive, but the bottom row is MEH.

I always enjoy when I get internal emails with the following useless text

COMPANY NAME
(FORMER COMPANY NAME)
ADDRESS MAIN PLANT
ADDRESS HEADQUARTERS
SEVERAL PHONE NUMBERS
RANDOM DISCLOSURE BS

I know where you work moron. I work there too.

Errr -- you do realize that people generally don't put that in their signatures, correct? It is typically a policy applied to the email server, which automatically appends that to all emails.

These guys just don't realize you can have multiple sigs and just have one catch-all sig.

I get a paragraph like this (only about twice as long) automatically attached to the bottom of every email I send. Annoying as hell. Has this kind of language ever actually done anything in court?

I hate it when people put stupid quotes in their sigs.

This is at the bottom of a former coworker's sig: "You are only what you are when no one is looking." - Robert C. Edwards

Why is that in the signiture of your business e-mail?

A guy from the Helpdesk had a quote from Albert Einstein, but I can't remember his name. I just don't get why people do that.

probably for normal people/company. But where I work, dude in the same department as me puts that in his signature, I just want to choke him every time I see his emails...and not like that crap is going to hold up in court.
