As a cheap, but rather powerful alternative to the gorbs, the taisol CEK733092 is one awesome little solution. I got mine for $13 at a local store, but you can get it for even cheaper straight from taisol. The only NECESSARY modification is that the clip must be loosened. I got the idea to try out this heatsink from Nevin...
In my own little impromptu comparison, between a gorb/pal6035/taisol unit, i got the following results.
Ambient temp was kept at 29.1C during all tests.
MB used was a CUSL2, Bios 1003.1. Temp program was mbm5 beta 3, with cusl2 compensation. CPU speed was 650E@866 1.7 volts.
gorb: 48C
taisol: 45C
Pal6035: 44C
The taisol unit performs very, very well for the price. It can be purchased for under $12, yet performs fairly close to a pal6035. But remember to modify the clip, otherwise you'll encounter major problems. Another note, it fits in a cusl2 perfectly(which can't be said for the orb, which is a huge pain to get mounted).
A new, very nice, very inexpensive alternative to the GORbs.
