taisol cek742 question...please help

hello people, i just got the cek742 today...now on the bottom side of the heatsink there a little flap covering some sticky thing...do i just peel the flap, expose the sticky thing and apply the arctic silver and the cpu?? or am i suppose to get rid of the sticky thing first then apply the artic silver. one more thing about the clip, does the orientation of the bent on the clip matters when putting on the clip? thanks much...

don't use the silver and the built in pad.
pick one or the other.

Just peel off the blue cover to expose the interface material and slap it on. If you want to remove it to use artic silver instead (exactly what I wound up doing) it's gonna take some elbow grease. I had a lot of trouble cleaning it off. Had to resort to sanding.

um, you can only put the thing on one direction since there's a groove on the actual motherboard that prevents you from installing it the wrong way. take a close look at the bottom of the heatsink and then look at the socket on the motherboard. see what i mean? but, yeah, the others have it right about the thermal compound.

sometimes...some people just break the rules...when they don't know...hehe...i know someone who got the heatsink on the wrong way...i don't know how...but...i found out when i took it apart...
...but yeah...don't put it the wrong way!...

anyone wanna give me some leftover artic silver? hehe
