the election won't be awhile.
the current headlines are
1. president's son-in-law caught in an insider trade scandal, talk of impeachment from the opposition party.
2. two brothers suspected of engineering a train wreck to kill younger brother's third wife from vietnam to collect insurance money. traces of suspected snake venom found in her body. the younger brother's 2nd wife also died from snake bite. younger brother hanged himself. older brother arrested.

I do remember going out occasionally in the middle of the night and getting microwave dumplings at like 4 in the morning at a 7-11. Doesn't sound like much but when you're really hungry...

yes, it's similar to how people here thinks that bush stole the election.
7-11 is cool there, you can actually buy more edible food.

Ok. I just had dinner at Gyu Kaku and had Taiwan Draft Beer.
It was HORRIBLE. NOT the same as the Taiwan Beer I had with Dim Sum.
I switched to Orion. Much better beer.
Now I'm going to run to the 7-11 for a 6-pack before I upload my newest pics.

I just landed two hours ago.
Nice place. Mountains just shooting up out of the sea and very dark green. Temps are about 86 and it's sort of humid. Kind of like Florida in the spring.
I'm in dowtown Taipei right now. Sort of reminds me of Pittsburgh. Traffic's not too bad considering I just drove in through morning rush hour... except those scooters will swarm you like a bunch of gnats!
Not much Engrish. Everything is in English and Mandarin. Everyone in the airport and hotel greeted me in English. That right there makes it better than Miami. In Miami, the default language is Spanish.
The hotel room is different. I have a futon for a bed. It's about 8" off the ground. And in my fridge, there's some drink called "Pocari Sweat." Sweat, not Sweet. Doesn't sound too appetizing.
