We are just one race - the human race.

It all began with an original couple - 2 people, 1 man and 1 woman - that we are all descended from. It doesn't matter if we believe they were called Adam and Eve, or 2 monkey-men.

So we are all related and the differences are superficial. Intermarriage and breeding is no problem (except for cultural differences) for any humans.

It's too bad we make so much of the differences when we should be emphasizing the similarities and brotherhood of our extended family.

I prefer to celebrate diversity. It brings color and life to an otherways dreary and boring existance.

OK, I am Vietnamese and yes, I do love rice. But I also eat bread with cold ham and hot pepper, that what they called cold sandwich. Not all because don't even ask me to take off my shoes or whatever I have on my feet before entering your house. At home I don't tack up high of slippers and shoes in front of my house. And I hate to see my visitors take off their shoes right before they enter my house.
I like to share between cultures and foods but I am not tired for being different. Why? Because that the way it is, that is the unique creation of GOD.

Tripleshot, nothing wrong with diversity. Variety has been called the spice of life.

But that was not the point of my last post. Many wars, genocides, and other atrocities has been perpetrated by one part of our family against another. I was just emphasizing the similiarities (while also embracing the diversity).

Let's also assume the human race continues to survive and prosper for millions of years. If we continue to interbreed we will no doubt become more similar in appearance and lose some of our differences. Interesting speculation, no?

EDIT: I am just whitebread European descent living in California, but I do prefer taking my shoes off before entering my home - my family always has (although we do not insist our visitors remove footwear). This is for practical reasons to keep the carpet cleaner.

When I moved to Hawaii, I felt right at home with that custom.

SECOND EDIT: Of course future speculation does not take into account the human family moving off-planet. Then the characteristics of the inhabitants of each new colony will take on the genetic inheritance of the colonizers. Hmm, could be a sci-fi book (oops, been done already . . . Dune, etc.)

i heard a story about japanase, and some people said japanese people is come from china, the story said long time ago emperor of china send 5 scientist to japan to find a special medicine for him, and if they can not find, the emperor will kill them for a punishment, and finally they can not find that medicine, and stay in japan forever, it's just a history!!! dont blame me

It is not true that the Western world came up with all the great technologies...Try exploring a bit more of other cultures, before ya make commends that you may regret.

eg.
Chinese know how to mend broken boken bones since 1200 AD, while the Western world didn't come up with it till after the Great War.
Chinese stablizes Copper on Ceramic since 900 AD, while the Western world didn't come up with it till 1990s.

when you guy said you can tell it because they have already spoken
which you don't understand but it give you a clue what nationatity they are.
let say i speak english instead of my native language
then you have no clue period if I am chinese, japanese, or vietnamese
when I say take off shoe it mean us in the eastern hemisphere
not in America asian who doesn't take off shoe in America doesn't count as one of them and you are considered american
or have adapted the american way
guess most of you are missing my point or are way out of line.

Nop, you are so wrong about shoes, Hyper99. Doesn't matter here in America or back there in my country, Vietnam.
We, I mean my whole family had never ever take off shoes or slippers or sandals. And stack'em high in front of the door before entering the house. So, the point which I have not missed.

I can tell who is Chinese, Japanese or Vietnamese before they have spoken a word. Maybe not 100% correct all the time but at least 90% I have it right.

Oh, there is one thing which I would like to make. I am not American in anyway. Yes, I born in Vietnam and may grow old or die in America but Am prety much Vietnamese. Vietnamese in every step of the way and to the rest of my life.
