Sounds like recently people are getting the TY03's.. Any update on if this is still happening? Or a coupon code?

On top of that, anyone do any tests with these on a Plextor PX-740A?

I received TY01 a week or so ago. Which is fine by me since I'm still using my old NEC2500/2510.

me too, except i got a new lite-on shm-160p6s from newegg about the same time, and it doesn't like the media :/. oh well, but my old nec 2500 reads them just fine.

Last 3 weeks, I ordered twice from Shop4tech. They are TYG02. According to DVDinfo, it can be burned at 16x.

I got 400 TYG03's tuesday last week

One thing I must say that wrap is a bitch to get off if you're not used to it. I scratched up several disks getting it off. Be careful.

Just a guess, but I think you are more likely to get TYG02's with a 100 purchase and TYG03's with 200 or more.

Keeping fingers crossed for TY03's, but will be happy even with 4x media since that's all my standalone Panny recorder uses. If the Ty03's come thru, I'll use 'em on the PC, too.

I would order these but I would want TY01 only.

Taiyo had great quality with their first gen DVD's. The TY02's were still good but not as good as the 01's, and with the 03's the quality has gone down considerably. Its a shame

ordered 1000 on 03/12, UPS was just here. All are TYG02, cant beat that at $.25 a disc

P.S. I disagree about the TYG02's. Burned 3K+ of those in my DW1640's with stock BSLB F/W and I get consistent 99 scores at 8x. I've also burned around 1k of TYG01's and while I think they're great media I just don't have enough time to wait for 4x burns and overspeeding them produces stable but not spectacular burns.
