The message that Jesus delivered, in my opinion, was that obedience to law doesn’t open the door to heaven. Salvation does not depend on an eye for an eye. Turn the other cheek if one blow is the result, but it took Islam to set a limit on that Absolute compassion but total resistance of injustice does not end.
