You think other people get married thinking they'll get divorced in a couple of years? Things happen in life, its not something you can control

The root of the problem is the media, family, and friends telling you how there's always someone out there for you. Guess what? This isn't the case for everyone! Some people are NOT meant to get married, but society as a whole can't handle/accept this! It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with a person who isn't cut for marriage, it's what it is.

Wrong, no. Sad, yes. Especially if that person has closed himself off from the possibility.

Why is it sad? If you have to look towards another person for happiness, you're going to fail no matter what.

You have to be insane to be male and want to get married this day and age. With a divorce rate hovering at 50%, you might as well roll the dice on your financial livelihood.
Just because 'everyone else is doing it' doesn't mean you have to. If you know what you want your life to be, find a woman who wants the same things and has the will to make it happen. Or be bitter and alone. Your choice.
It is one-sided but it also contains quite a bit of truth. Doubtful? Are you close friends with any guys that have been married for at least five years? If so, ask them how much of that site is true. You might be surprised at what they tell you.Originally posted by: Danman
I'm kind of getting sick and tired of these threads that are saying "Oh, don't get married, you'll be miserable!" and that nomarriage.com site. Jesus, that site makes me sick. It's so one sided it's not even funny.

Good luck for you people that want to stay single forever and not get married because of BS financial excuses.

We're saying to get a prenup, not don't get married.
I don't think people realize what being divorced is like, the guy I used as an example had his financial life ruined. I think the reason most people don't get prenups is that they are scared their fiance will leave them just because they bring the topic up.
Guys if your girl leaves you over that then you had no chance to begin with.
