This kinda reminded me of a pretty funny, almost completely unrelated story. When I used to live in rural NC (tip: don't ever do this), my mother used to work with this woman who was one of those ultra-preachy types that seemed to see any get-together as a reason to proselytize to anyone within 50 feet. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with telling people who are interested about your religious beliefs, but don't tell me that because I'm a Catholic I'm going to burn in hell for all eternity unless I'm "born again," then not get the hint when I say that I'm not interested in hearing about that.
Anyways, while she was like this, her two kids were completely and utterly the opposite, finding every opportunity to get involved in everything their mother didn't want them seeing and listening to. One time, some kid at school gave them a Taking Back Sunday car sticker, and asked her to put it on her car. She was completely ecstatic about the idea, and after putting it on kept telling everyone she met about her kids' new program at church to take back Sunday as a holy day for God. Apparently she was not very pleased when someone finally broke it to her that it had nothing to do with what she thought it meant.
Of course, this is the same person whose husband broke into our house one night and tried to sexually assault my 15-year-old sister (at least until she punched him), and then defended him and said my sister shouldn't have been asking for it, but that's another story for another thread...
