One wonders what the long term effects of these drugs will turn out to be.

Side effects include: uncontrollable rage, drugs may not work for all, increased heart rate and blood pressure. Just the normal stuff.

No, because I am already exactly where I want to be, and I'm perfectly happy with where and how I am at the moment thank you very much.

no. drugs were not the reason.

the fact you think this is the reason.
I did not get honors or perfect attendance until after I quit doing weed and shrooms on a regular basis. Used to always go to classes high as fuck then abruptly leave cause I just wanted to smoke more weed. I already have a lack of focus and patience when it comes to school and that just made it worse.

How would one get a hold of these drugs without a prescription? I'd like to try it once or twice just to see if it works.

Hmm, I could see that helping with some of the core classes I had to take (English, History, etc). I have a terrible memory. I nearly failed English because I couldn't remember the 100+ short poems we read and had a really hard time with the test.

A better memory wouldn't really help in my engineering classes. You don't need to remember much and you usually get a page to write down the few formulas you might need to remember.

Are you serious? They don't make you derive them yourself? Sigh I have been cheated.

Well it's not like you take some Adderall and your GPA automatically goes up. It just helps people focus while studying, you still have to put in the time and effort. I don't really see the big deal.

I've never bothered with the stuff, too straight edge I guess, but it seems to be pretty common in collegiate environments.

I'd never do it, because I am a weirdo, but sounds like the shit I need...

I have horrible issues focusing when reading... It's not so bad when I have like questions I am looking answers for. I've found that I just can't read a chapter anymore just by freewill at any time in a book unless I am looking for things to write down or answer in a question. I'll read the words, but it won't make any connections at all...

Obviously depends on the class. They're not going to make you derive Boltzmann's equation in every single statistical mechanics exam.

What's the point of asking you to derive an equation?

You do the tedious, in-depth things on homework. You can spend long hours on homework getting a deep understanding.

An exam is for quick (10-15 minutes per problem) tests to tell if you understand the concepts. They can give you every equation in the book, but if you don't understand the underlying concepts, then you won't know how to apply them.

It's pretty clear here that drugs themselves weren't the problem, instead it's the fact that you were using the wrong ones... Weed and shrooms are not exactly conducive to attaining honors or perfect attendance.

This made university physics courses brilliant. I didn't have to do any study at all, and in the end I just sat around watching people suffer wondering why they couldn't see what seemed so simple.

Whats the point? To weed people out.

I don't think it'd be worth it. Very few things are worth working that hard for. I mean sure, pulling a few all-nighters a semester is reasonable, but consuming drugs so you can do it every day? Just take one less class, or take a B+ instead of an A-; it isn't the worst thing in the world.

I think students (high school and college) tend to get too obsessed with the minutiae of their lives. Everything seemed so important at the time, but in retrospect it really wasn't. It would behoove many of them to just relax a bit more.

In the 60 min segment they weren't talking from going from a B+ to an A- it was more like the students would get C's but with the drugs they got A's (whether it was a placebo or not remains debatable). It made the boring subjects more interesting and allowed them to study better and organize the information in detail.

In the grand scheme of things you go to college to get a good job or into secondary education to become a professional. Your GPA is what lets you into these opportunities. With unemployment still high, these undergrads want the best chance at getting the best grades.

After trying Adderall for the first time after college I can say 100% without a doubt I would have performed considerably better had I used it in school. It's powerful stuff, but the way this drug is restricted is bizarrely retarded. It's either safe enough to let adults use at their own discretion, or it's too unsafe to be giving to 6 year olds.

I think the big problem with drugs like Adderall isn't it's saftey when taken as you're supposed to, but how easy it is to abuse. Swallow it whole and you have a powerful mental boost. Administer it through a different route with the time-release mechanism defeated and you have a recreational drug.

I've always been more of a downer type, I've never tried anys simulants nor do I think I will. But, there are a number of legal options out there, I just don't think I'd want to even get started on it. Doesn't sound like my type of fun. Of course now I'm going back to school, I have a family, and work full time. Hopefully I'll be able to balance everything and not have to worry about thinking about ways to get more done other than coffee.
