I vote for making voting mandatory for federal offices for US citizens. The one of the big problems I see with our current electorial system is that a motivated minority can very effectively push federal government policies in directions that are not necessarily beneficial for the whole country.

You do realize that old people overwhelmingly vote Republican and are probably the largest group that receives government money. With this plan there'd be an almost guarantee that there's never again be a sitting Republican congress or President. Especially considering old people with property are more likely to vote than young people without property anyway.

A random drawing of 500 voting age individules that serve guaranteed 1 year terms, with a random drawing that keeps 25% of them for a second term (you have to have people that know the ropes). Their sole job, oversight of the executive and legislative branch. Hold the elected representatives accountable for corruption and ethics charges.
