His first problem is assuming because it is illegal you can't buy it. I can't buy heroine or cocaine in the US either...


His second problem is that he is following strictly Japanese food naming law. And that is the same problem with champagne. I could get the exact cow, and replicate the exact conditions and have Kobe beef, but it isn't "real" because it wasn't done in Japan.

I do agree with him on that actual good US beef being better though.

not sure what Ns1 is talking about. i was 31 and my wife turned 30 when we were there, and i'd say the majority of people there were 30-40 so you shouldn't feel weird at all being a couple who is 40 there. saw plenty of people even older than that too, even just hanging out at the pools. it's just a more posh hotel in general. nothing is cheap there either so i'd say it has less younger people than some of the others do, except at the marquee club which is a huge day and night club.

and yeah the secret pizza is right by the entrance to the marquee club. so it's expected who the target audience of that place is.

How much was it?


As far as getting a decent flight we would have to travel to Chicago which isn't going to be an option...so the price of we will just have to eat..and fly out of Milwaukee.

Right now I am looking up deals and getting around 1,200 for both of us flight and hotel with two show tickets included...and that is staying at Mandalay Bay for 4 nights.

i stayed on the 17th floor at the cosmo and could not hear anything from the room or hallways. people love to exaggerate.

they did have an outdoor concert at the boulevard pool one night though where they drained most of the pool to make for standing room, which was cool, and it was loud as shit from our room, even with the doors shut. i got some vids from the balcony too, it was pretty awesome. but that ended at like 10pm.

Our favorite hotel is definitely Vdara and favorite restaurant is Bouchon @ Venetian.

It's really not a negative just an FYI. I mean at least the eye candy was good - lots of 20 year olds in short skirts almost passed out.

Sorry for the lack of replies...home computer BSOD last night...so I didn't get a chance to reply to anyone...

The travel dates are the week before Thanksgiving.

After talking a little bit more with the wife, I am thinking about renting a car during our time out there for some sight seeing.

Co-worker of mine stayed a number of days at the Zion Canyons and she said that would make a nice day trip...also I would love to check out the Hoover Dam.

I figure for the cost of some package deal where you only get to go a couple of hours we would pay the same and get to go where we want.

They have a hot air balloon deal package I found that she was interested in.

For grins I mentioned they had a party bus VIP deal for going out to the clubs...she just laughed...

I like the idea of hitting Fremont area for cheaper gambling...definitely not going out there to break the bank but we both want to gamble a little.

Once i get home and get my computer fixed I will read through some of the other replies.

I'm going to Vegas again in September. I have stayed at the Wynn, Cosmo, Mirage and Bellagio. My favourite is the Wynn, but the Cosmo was a close second.

I'm going to spend some time at the Barrett Jackson car auction, see Penn & Teller and maybe a little gambling.

speaking of hoover damn, just an fyi, the heli tours to the grand canyon fly over the hoover damn too. you aren't like really close to it though but it was neat to see it from up there.

Co-worker of mine stayed a number of days at the Zion Canyons and she said that would make a nice day trip...also I would love to check out the Hoover Dam.

Zion is incredible and totally worth a trip. It's a good 3 hours one-way from Vegas. Wouldn't recommend it for a day trip. Would be a great 2-3 day side trip if you can afford the time, though.
