Cell shading always makes going back to older games a bit easier as it can hide flaws/limits, while say a realistic game tends to start looking like dog shit when the next gen comes out.

when I first saw it in Jet Set Radio, I was blown away by it's coolness... Then I saw it in DBZ and it too was great, then in 1200 other games... now I hate it.

Tales coming to the PS3 is a maybe/probably right now. Nothing official has been announced...just assumed.

It's possible the PS3 version will have additional content like Eternal Sonata for PS3 will have.

As of now, it's an exclusive. If it does come to the PS3 I highly doubt it would be this year. So if you own both systems, i think playing it 6+ months in advance might be worth keeping it.

I want this game. So everyone who owns it...worth $60 so far? I'm hoping some idiot traded it in to gamestop already, since theres a 25% off coupon for used games this week.

I wouldn't be playing Tales anytime soon. I still have a bunch of other games to play and not enough time to do so. And any game that goes multi-platform, I'll pick the PS3 version anyday.

just picked up the game. pretty excited to give it a go. i really liked lost odyssey and i thought it was neat that after you beat the game, you can play it all over again with your immortals at level 50. might do that with the gf since she loves these rpg type games.

I'm still trying to get used to some of the new controls/mechanics and I hate the fact that you can't remap the control pad...just finished up the first chapter.

I actually noticed that. Saw you posted, went to xbox.com to see how far you got, you've got a "not yet played" next to it.

Once you get past the cartooney-ness of the game and some of the cheesy humor it's actually a ton of fun. The live action fighting is what sets it apart.

That said if you're never in the mood keep it in the wrapper. Game is out of print and prices are already getting up towards what they were when the game was brand new. Methinks if you give it another year or so it'll be a $75 game whilst in the shrink wrap.

the hd anime style is what attracted me to game in the first place.. its on my list of things to open...

I was gonna get Lost Odyssey but it looks too similar to Final Fantasy. I like the Tales games because they take such a broad step in the other direction.

Dead Space just isn't my thing...at all.

Wow.. old thread. I did end up playing and finishing the game and loved a good majority of it. I still wish the PS3 version would come stateside.. Heard there was a lot of things added in the PS3 version that didn't make it to the 360 version.

I wasn't impressed by the game. I disliked the battle system, which, in a JRPG, is pretty much a fatal thing. Plus the plot wasn't very intriguing in the short time I played it. Also the lack of Japanese voices (iirc) was annoying.

I had bought Eternal Sonata, Lost Odyssey, and Tales of Vesperia for my (ex) G/F who was a huge Kingdom Hearts fan and she hated all of them. They all got turned in barely played for some crap cooking game for the Wii.
