I think I saw those vans on the Pali the other day, wasnt sure if they were the ones or not. They also have cops parking on the dirt hidden by trees by the airport headed to Aiea. Watch out, HPD is tagging Honda boys left & right.

The Supreme Court already ruled these kinds of systems unconstitutional, just take it to court and you'll win, EVERYTIME!!! Unless of course they get a picture of YOU in the drivers seat and can easily identify you from the picture. No facial of you, no constitutional basis to give you a ticket.

From Kailua, if your interested, but up in Utah at school right now, damn freezing here, was just home for the holidays, and now I'm sick as a dog from the climate change!!!

Yea these photo vans blow. There is no evaluation of the situation when you are cited. At least when you have a real cop pull you over, he/she can make a determination of what's going on. For example, you could have some drunk weaving in and out of lanes, but staying under the limit, and they wont get cited at all! But at the same point in time, if some car accelerates to move out of the way, then that innocent guy gets nailed. This is all wrong.

what sucks about Hawai`i is that to challenge your ticket, you've got to pay bail, ~$80, upfront, and then you get it back if you win, and IF you show up for your court date.

One thing I hate about Hawai`i is it's a damn communist state...

I just heard that one of the bastards got ticketed by a motorcycle cop!

5 percent is extremely low for a low speed area... seems pretty unreasonable and stands to net a large percentage of drivers. However most speedometers are calibrated to read approx 2MPH faster than you are actually going, at least in Fords they are, so if you got a ticket for 38 in a 35, your speedometer would have been reading 40.
