It seems fat men have "Big and Tall" stores, but normal tall people don't. For instance, I fit well in tall banana republic clothes, however BR doesn't stock any of their brick and mortar stores with their tall lineup, so I can't test out clothing, I can only buy it online.

So I was wondering what tall guys have as resources for buying clothes that fit them properly. Enlighten me, because I'm tired of playing the shop online guessing game.

Large Tall seems to be a size oddity for some reason? I'm 6'6 210lbs.

"Big & Tall" stores should be able to fit skinny tall folks as well...they're not just for fatties...

I'm "long in the torso" so I have to have "tall" shirts...and they're a PITA to find in many stores.

Everytime I shop in a Big & Tall, the sizes start at XL or 2XL or some ridiculous size.

At 6'5" and all my height is in my legs, it is fun getting pants. I order from JCP and get the un-hemmed pants.

I found a few brands of jeans that work for me. BKE makes tall jeans, I'm 6'6" 240. For shirts its always a crapshoot.

American Eagle has a great selection of large tall shirts and 36 length jeans online.

I wear a 34x36---impossible to find anyone that carries that size. Tall sizes in shirts are usually xxlg tall, which makes me look like a I'm wearing a painter's smock.

I have some luck at Kohl's, but it's always hit or miss. My tolerance for sifting through the racks trying to find a size is much higher now that I head that way while my wife is doing her thing in the other half of the store. Somehow, I go through every rack of men's stuff, try stuff on, and get back over there and she's still only through 25% of the womens' side. Now I set a time limit when we go in to a big store, thereby saving huge amounts of time and money.

It does suck trying to find longer than 34 pants without getting into at least 40 waist. When I was in my 20s I was 32x36. Talk about impossible.

I usually shop at the nike outlet because it is one of the few stores that has size 15 shoes and they usually make their shorts and pants long. Other than that i shop at Men's warehouse for non-nike stuff. I usually buy suits and rent tuxes their so i end up getting a good discount on other stuff.

Agree with pretty much all these posts. 6'6" 230 and it's near impossible to find pants - jeans or dress pants. Shirts are a little easier, unless it's longsleeved then it can be a real pain in the ass as well. Seems like the bulk of their clothes are for short, fat, people with the waist size bigger than the inseam.

Online is another option, but can be hit or miss as well since you can have two pair of the same exact style jeans from the same company with the same sizes and they'll fit totally differently, or not at all.

For that reason I'll always keep my eyes open and seems when I do find good fitting clothes somewhere it seems like they have other stuff as well and I'll binge shop.

Try BKE. Its a little pricey, but I wear their 36 longs which fit great. They have a few different cuts too. That or Lucky Jeans.

For cheap, old navy has always worked for jeans, I wear a 36x36, usually pretty easy to find (6'7, 220). most shirts in XL work for me, although a lot of them don't get any longer, just fatter.

Old navy, for sure. I'm 6'4, but don't have absurdly long legs which makes people underestimate my height until I'm next to someone who looks tall.

I wear 36x34 pants and they are great. Heck, even target has those sizes all over.

Unless you are 6'8+, you should have no problem at major retailers.

Do pants not run long for tall guys? I know all through high school and college, I would wear a 30" inseam. Now they so long that I can easily wear a 28".

Depends on what you're buying I guess. Baggy pants are still in style(sigh), so they'll generally be longer.

I have a pretty cheap place that has a great selection of tall shirts/pants. My pant size is actually common, so the only issue is finding it in stock. I'm taller in the torso, but tall shirts are pretty easy to find these days. I do like shopping online, but for clothes I'm afraid to.

I just got some 'skinny jeans' from G Star in a 38" leg and they fit great! (I'm 6'7", 34 waist). Still not sure whether skinny jeans are a good look for an already lanky frame though!
