In Alaska, people fake n bake all the time. Some are more ovbious than others. Personally I prefer to have/see a little color. Pasty people don't look healthy. Now that I'm in (a place I can't mention without a mod slapping me with a trout) I've noticed that the darkest people are the tourists.

Most people here have nice, moderate tans (myself included) but we're careful to use the sunscreen so we don't overdo it.

Actually, it does make me look better. I don't overtan - just a few sessions every once in awhile. I tan really fast, but I also lose it fast and I get really pale. I have dark circles under my eyes so that stands out pretty bad when I'm pale and I look sickly.
