Task Scheduler won't go away

How do you kill this thing? I've disabled in startup, disabled using msconfig, and tried opening the task scheduler clicking on advanced tap and selecting Stop Using Task Scheduler but it always returns apon rebooting. Help me destroy this evil!

The "Advanced Options -> Stop Using Task Scheduler" will make it stop loading up with Windows.

However, if you have a program like Critical Update Notification running then you have to first uninstall that program and then do the "Stop Using Task Scheduler" again.

Search for TweakUI on Lycos or something and download it.. there's a lot of this kind of stuff in it.. absolutely great program..

tweakui is made by microsoft you can find it on their website using the search function.. this will let you change all sorts of fun settings.

You can kill task scheduler another way.

Go to Start -> Run -> type in msconfig, click Startup tab, then search for a checked box
with taskscheduler.exe (or some such thing, I forgot exactly); uncheck it, exit program and reboot.

It also works if you want to get rid of other programs too!
