take about a cup of ripped up kale (minus woody stems)
spoonful of coconut oil
couple splashes lemon juice
garlic

heat coconut oil
toss in garlic
cook for a minute
toss in kale - cook for two minutes or so tossing
splash in lemon juice while cooking
drizzile with tablespoon of honey

mix
enjoy!

this is good, there is a restaurant nearby that has a great kale salad that is probably close to this that I love.

Personally I'd skip kale with this much work and so many other things you can eat with similar outcomes.

Unless you have some medical condition that needs Kale, why?

Because, per volume, kale is one of the most nutritionally dense foods available? Fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals. It's great for your overall function. It doesn't taste great, but if you can make it taste good, why not eat if it's better than other options?

Also, is this recipe really that much work? Sautee it for an overall time of like 3-4min? How lazy can you be with cooking?

So you now have one meal with all that work.

Like I said diminishing returns.

It was just a happy discovery for me. I was cooking the kale, and thought 'lemon juice'. When I tasted it, I thought 'sour' - then I thought HONEY! - Sweet and sour. . . mmmmmm

Don't ever take Alkemyst's posts seriously; he's been trolling for as long as I can remember on here, and I've been on these forums off and on for 7 years.

I like to hide my kale in smoothies with some coconut milk and mixed berries. Vitamix ftw!

I tried this last night and it was honestly the best kale dish I've had. For kale, I typically just aim for palatable, but this dish was awesome. I had it with some BBQ and mash potatoes and it was great, even though you'd think sweet and sour stuff wouldn't work. I modified the recipe a bit - cooked in olive oil, only added about a half teaspoon of honey. Worked out great though. Kudos to you, episodic. Thanks for posting this recipe. If you ever get any more for kale or other veggies and leafy greens, I'd look forward to you posting it.

Try it with the red pepper flakes and sesame seeds, as shown in the youtube video I linked above. It takes it to a whole new level, IMO.

I use the same recipe with different kinds of greens all the time. I really like mustard greens or red chard, too.

Hardly a troll post though. I seriously question anyone having to force themselves to eat items like this because it's some uber food stuff. There are tons of choices out there that are healthy and you will get just as good results.

Please stick to the freaking topic and save calling out members for the mods to handle.

I can't really see the pepper flakes going with it, but I'll definitely give the sesame seeds a try. Thanks for the tip.

Where have I trolled here?

Seriously I don't agree with having to force one's self to eat something like Kale as there are plenty of foods that will perform just as well.

This is just another 'popular product' deal. I have been around long enough to not get hung up on complex recipes just to choke down some uber food stuff.

Drop the troll crap. It's just going to clutter the thread.

Ey! This isn't too far from my standby spinach wilt. I never thought to try it with kale!

I'll give this a shot in the next few days. Thanks for the idea and the recipe, episodic!

My sister got me some fancy kale chips from naturalzing.com for Christmas; pretty good stuff, but expensive

Not too far off from a kale salad recipe I know

1/4 cup lemon juice
2 T water
2 t sugar
Mix, toss in some craisins, whole or chopped. Add oil of your choice. Makes a good dressing for raw kale. Add toasted slivered almonds on top

Another thread derailed by alkemyst trolling and attention whoring. Sigh.
