That article implies that c-dilla was uninstallable using the standard windows add/remove tool -- but for TurboTax, it was not.
After severe consumer backlash, intuit published an uninstall app for the c-dilla spyware/drm/cr@p -- and if customers were interested/informed enough about it, they could find it on the website and download it.

The whole thing was a major turn-off to me, and so I ridded myself of everything by Intuit.
They haven't suffered enough, imo, so I continue to boycot them.

TaxAct is good stuff. I used if for 4 years then switched to TaxCut because I got it for cheap after rebate. Then I learned that TaxCut charges like $15 or something to file online so it ended up costing me more than TaxAct and the interface was awful. Never again will I use TaxCut.

I always buy the TaxAct Deluxe. You get a free e-file most of the other companies (ie:TaxCut, etc...) offer free e-file also but when you read the fine print it is a rebate -- You pay for the e-file and then mail in a rebate form and hope that you get something back. With TaxAct, it is a FREE e-file with no rebate forms.

Ive used taxcut for 3 years now and out of the blue i recieved their program free in the mail the other federal and state both included. havent installed yet, bet they try to charge me after i enter all my numbers and go to print it out lol

And also thier Ultimate Bundle which includes federal and state along with free efiling for $19.95. I'd like to see another company beat those prices.

And if you know the file naming convention that 2nd Story uses for each program and their server URLs, you can download the full deluxe versions of federal and state programs for free. You can't file electronically unless you pay, but you can print the returns and paper file them for the cost of postage.

I don;t like these Tax softwares they are involved with the government and you never get the right refund which you deserve.
