Tbird temp question. Mike ? Anyone ?

Finally decided to try AMD. Just built 1ghz Tbird on A7V, and I love it, no probs at all.
Although I do just wanna check my temps with yous guys.
I remember Mikewarrior2 say in a thread that some newer A7V bios 'compensate' for inaccurate thermo readings. Any idea which ones ?
I have a fairly new bios - 1005b - but wasnt sure if it was just 1004's that did that ??
OK, my temps:
Im using basic Cooler Master HSF - DP5-6H51 (removed pad and using arctic silver)
Idle temp about 45-47c and underload max 52c
MB temp reported at 26-28c (not sure if this is case temp or not tho ?)
Room temp 19-20c
Case cooling I have Enermax psu with its 9cm fam pulling air right off of cpu and another 8cm case fan pulling out about level with cpu.
Now, bearing in mind bios, do these temps sound reasonable ?
I would go for better HSF but noise is orimary concern.

They sound a bit high to me, especially if you're not overclocking. Now by high I don't mean dangerous, but I'm running a 1G at 1.2 and my idle (after much playing with fans!) is about 36deg C with load under 45.

This is why I wanted to find out about the adjusted bios that I've heard about for the A7V.
As you are using a KT7 we are not really comparing like for like.
BTW how do you find the noise level on your Taisol fan ? Have you compared it to any others ?

Well, compared to what I've heard about the Fop's it's quite quiet. I believe they rate it at about 34DBA @21cfm, but it seems a lot quieter. The one I put on it was a Lenline (just from a local electronics shop) and it was rated at 36cfm at 35dba. Now it seems noticeably louder than the Taisol, but the fins on the taisol seem to be longer and thinner than most which might mean less air noise.

I've seen a site - but forgot to bookmark it (DUMB ME) that actually had audio files of a lot of the HSF's that are out there.

Your temps are fine. They aren't high, even for an A7v. Keep in mind that your heatsinks isn't among the higher-performing heatsinks, and that accoutns for part of your slighly higher temps, but they're nothing to concerned with.

Tepin,

Your temps are on a different mb. YOu cannot compare your temps with an a7v user since your thermistor is in a completely different spot, and the kt7 bios compensates differently then the a7v bios does.

Sorry...didn't realize there was that much difference between the sensors on MB's! :-()

Oh, definately..> Take one chip at 1ghz 1.8V on a kt7, it may read 45C, put it on an A7v, and it may read 55C.
