The Tbreds are out. But as since this is a new process the only ones they are making are the mobile ones. The New Tbred mobile chip is called the Athlon XP+, the old mobile chip is the Athlon 4.
To get the Athlon XP+ you would have to buy a HP or Compaq laptop, which they are about to use the new ATI chipset and toss the old VIA to the curb. The ATI chipset will have DDR, better video card, and have a very long battery life. Toms hardware already tested a early prtotype and it was either hanging with the Dell P4 or tearing it a new one. And it should not cost to much more than the Current Athlon Laptops from HP and/or Compaq.
The main reason behind this is, they want to make HP and Compaq happy, and the price on the mobile chip is sometimes twice what they get for a desktop chip. As soon as they have enough stock they will let the Tbred on the market. I think the new HP(with compaq) ordered 200K ati chipsets, so that would lead me to think that they also ordered at least 200K mobile Athlon XP+ (Tbred), that is why AMD is having a hard time getting the desktop model out.
I am thinking about getting a KT333 board and a new Trbed just so I can run the FSB at 166mhz.
