TCPIP Printing HELP PLEASE

On a Mac netowrk I have 2 Win 98 CPU's and they need to use the network printers. I need to use TC/PIP Printing (microsoft), i have looked everywhere on 98 and I can't find it at all. Can someone help please

is the printer connected to the MAC and shared by it?

Not knowing much about the capabilities of the MacOS, I can only suggest using a LPR daemon. This is common for cross-platform compatibility.

Another option is to by a print server device. This is a small hardware device that allows multiple systems to print to one printer without user intervention.

What is happening is I have a MAC Network and then we have 2 HP printers a 4050 and a 4500 then we have 2 Window 98 maachines that need to print to those printers i know that only in NT there is LPR but not in 98 Is there a way around using LPR in order for them to be able to print.

anyhow... this is what i have done at my work..
my work is also a mac network and also have the hp 4050 plus 10 pc running win98SE... If you have JetDirect on the printers what you can do is find out the ip address that is used by the printers simply by going to the printers and print out the config. Then pop in the driver CD for the printers.. choose custom installation don't choose auto config because in the custom installation there is an option installing printers that has jetdirect attach to it if you choose auto config it will setup the printers as printers hooked up on network. After you setup the drivers it will ask you to reboot and once you rebooted it will take you back to the setup menu again... from there choose custom setup for the printers and it will ask you where are the printers you can entered them by ip address or other options. I'd choose IP address since you have the ip address with you.. to me that's the easiest. That should work...

Sorry about the multiple postings I was in a real bind here and I thought that If it was up there multiple times I could get a better response. Sorry about that though. Also Thanks for the idea I am going to do this today, I will write back to let you know how it went
