BTW, I used a TDK $50 MIR when buying the 16X10X40 VeloCD about 4 months ago and I got the cash back in about 4 weeks. Quick and no hassles.

I had a $50 rebate a year ago for a TDK 12/10/32 ($180 AFTER MIR!) and I got the check TWO DAYS AGO!!! I waited forever and when I contacted them, they said, "Don't have it, but if you can send POP, then we'll make an exception." Fortunately, I was able to find it.

I picked up the 24x TDK from CC yesterday. However, mine doesn't have any info on getting (10) free cd's.

By the way, the manufacturing date on my drive is December 24, 2001, so I'm sure I have the latest!

Remember you can edit your posts Pig. The 10 free cd's is on the package. It's part of the package rather. There is not some "deal" to get them.

TDK drives are unmatched for digital audio extraction.... You won't believe how fast you can rip CDs to MP3's using one of these drives.

That said, they're definitely NOT the fastest for all-out burning. But I'd sacrifice some burning speed for DAE speed any day.

I wonder if we can find this TDK drive at any online site so we can price match with AMEX Blue...Imagine that...If you could find it for $100 or so on any site, that would make this hard drive about $30 bucks!

Wow, this is a great price. I was thinking of upgrading my 8x Plextor but I was being cheap and I held off on the 24x Plextor at the end of the year. And I am glad I did cuz I would much rather spend less than half the price and get this drive. Gotta go to CC tomorrow.

Sanyo has BURN-Proof and LiteON has Smart-BURN and the box mentions the LiteOn trademark. My old TDK was a Plextor inside.

I don't thin you can AmEx match this deal because the don't account for rebates, just the sale price. I paid $135 for my TDK and the CC one is $130. What's killing me is how the rebate changed from $20 to $50 in a few short weeks.

I may just get the CC drive tomorrow and take back the Costco one. I hate doing it, but $50 is $50.

The two rebates are the best part of the Amex Exp blue pricematch deal because Amex Ex doesn't know about the rebates so we will hopefully be pricematching to ~$100 down from CC price of 129.99. We've got 60 days.
If yer in San Diego I picked up the last one today from the Rosecrans CC. I'll be back tomorrow for an adjust and MIR's so who knows if CC will restock the shelves for the sale. Knowing them, probably not.

Actually the SoCal Fry's ad has the TDK CDRW for $109 - $50 MIR making it $59 less the $20 rebate. Don't know but you may be able to PM that.
