Are the rebates advertised at CC? If CC knows about the rebates then they probably won't do the price match but they always don't catch things like that. Go when the store is busy like around lunch time, because you have a better chance of pricematching. I had a guy do a pricematch in about 2 minutes because the pizza guy just dropped off his pizza as he started to help me. He didn't even check for rebates.

Technically it is a rebate, but not a CASH PAYOUT rebate, and you are correct. You receive a deposit in your MSN wallet after Feburary 2003 to spend ONLY at sites still accepting MSN Wallet at that time. (The list accepting is bigger than the list giving the 20% back though at least).

It's still a good deal, especially when combined with Free After Rebate items from Black Friday, and both of the Western Digital (120, 80) hard drive deals.. Even before MSN $ , the prices were still lower than eBay prices, and from a reputable company, free shipping and for some, no tax. The MSN bucks were just icing on the cake.

This deal however is riskier. If you attempt to price match after purchase INSTORE, CC may do a "return/rering", thus causing you to loose ALL of the MSN bucks, not just the % on the PM. At least do this over the phone or via email and request price adjustment, cannot cancel original ticket # due to rebates already sent. You should be safer then.

This deal really should be listed as $28 after PM/Rebate, receive $22 MSN Wallet credit to be clearer.

OK, I ordered on line AFTER calling the store I was going to pick it up at, confirming that they would price-match Best Buy. Went to Customer Service (lots of people in line, including an old guy with a cheapie sterero with the wrong remote, no receipt, looks of disgust on the staff's face, etc...good! Makes takin' care of me a piece o' cake!) and got the PM no problem.

Not sure about dealLurker's post, re-risk of losing all MSN $. I don't think the CSR cancelled the original ticket (gave me a merch p/u receipt, then I produced the BB price, resulting in a 'price adjustment' receipt). So I hope I'm OK there. Now just have to wait out the rebates!

You should be safe... So long as the original ticket number is valid, and you didn't get a new one assigned with the new price. Otherwise MSN will be notified to remove the ENTIRE amount, and your rebate will get rejected once Young America sees that the original ticket was "returned".

However, you should, within 3 days as reported on other 'large billfold' sites, see a reduction in your MSN credit by 20% of the amount of the price match refund, if it was done correctly.

I just got 2 of these...the sales man didn't check for a rebate, pm it then rang it up, after he rang it up noticed there was a rebate and tried to make me return it. spent like 5 min with the manager, but he didn't care and rang up the other one...good stuff

I bought one, pricematched to 90, so 30 after rebates. A pretty decent deal. Didn't use MSN stuff. It's a really nice drive. I think the $20 rebate has expired now, though.
