I know this is a little off topic but TDK rebadges their drives and modifies the firmware so the IDE detect at POST and Windows see the drives as a TDK drive. Make sure your know what you purchasing. I read some reviews of the 121032 and bought one. I ended up with a Ricoh when the drive in the reviews was a Plextor. The firmware has never been upgraded and the support from TDK is useless. Please note TDK initally releases a good quality drive and replaces it with what most people would consider an inferior quality drive.

Liteon, Sanyo, Plextor, and Ricoh are all good drives. Sanyo firmware upgrades work on their rebranded drives.

Lite-On is good if you plan on buying top-quality media. It's recording quality is very poor on any brand disc made by CMC Magnetics. That includes Imation, Phillips, Pioneer, and many other noname brands. However, if all you use are Yudens or TDK branded Ritek, you shouldn't have any problems.
