The following is a message I sent to TDK support. If anyone has an idea of what the problem might be I wouyld appreciate it.

Letter to TDK Support:
Dear TDK Support,
I'm hoping someone can help me determine the problem with this drive setup.
System:
Abit VP6, Dual FC-PGAs 1 GHz
VIA Drivers 4.28
TDK VeloCD 16/10/40 (Only IDE device, Primary, Master)
Adaptec SCSI 29160N Controller Card
Plextor UltraPlex 40Max (On Ultra SCSI connector, ID 6)
2 Seagate Cheetah 18GB Ultra160 LVD Drives (ID 0 & 1), (ST318404)
Matrox G450 Dual Head 32MB DDR SDRAM
3Com 3C905B NIC
Crucial 256MB PC133 SDRAM (1 DIMM)
Windows 2000, SR-1 plus all other updates available.
Using CDDAE 99, trying to extract tracks
Drive starts to spin up and then I receive the following error:
---> Extracting track 01
Start: 00:00:00 - Length: 06:23.70
Filename: C:\Temp\Track01.wav
Read Error (code 000000)
I have tried a few benchmarking programs, Dr. Hardware 2000, CD Speed 99, and TDK's CDDAE 99. All programs give the same error.
I have downloaded the latest WNASPI32.DLL file. (149K 2/11/2001)
I have double check Abit's recommended cabling scheme for this setup and have tried two different IDE cables (33 (one that came with drive) and 66 types).
Checked to see if drive is using DMA and it is, I think. Dr. Hardware shows Single DMA 0,1,2, and Multi DMA 0,1,2 (enabled).
The only thing I'm wondering is that the drive does not show up under ASPI devices in Dr. Hardware 2000. It only shows up in EIDE/ATAPI devices.
I can read the from the drive and copy from it just fine but extraction does not work at all.
Please let me know if I have missed anything or other places I might look to try and fix this problem.
