i just got the compaq ipaq one from buy for around 87 bucks, and it has a built in tuner, and is a much better company than Teac. It has a wireless remote control too. Take a look. Add some of the mini-cd's with it to make ur order over 100 and then use the 10 dollar off coupon to make the deal even sweeter. Just my advice.
does the ipaq one have upgradable firmware? Im debating on whether or not i want a full size mp3/cd player like the rio volt or the mini mp3/cd player like the ipaq pm-1. are there any reviews on the ipaq model?
The Compaq one can be bought on Outpost.com ... supposedly in stock. SKU# 3107440, description Compaq iPAQ Mini CD/MP3 Player. Ordered one today, waiting to see how I like it.
Hey... anyone know where you can get a Case Logic-like case for it and/or the pocket (8 cm) CD-Rs?
yea, i was looking to buy a Nomad II, but this might be an alternative. Does either of these models have upgradeable firmware like the Rio Volt ?? thanks alot guys.
i couldn't find the compaq on buy.com's site, can someone provide a link?
as far as case logic case for 3" cd's, i haven't seen any, but i know that pelican makes a little one that holds 12 cd's for nintendo gamecube games (same size), for $10
I bought the Compaq PM-1 at Sears, it is listed on their website. I also bought the extended warrenty for about 5 bucks. I find it is a good player and use it for jogging, it works fine with the 8 minute buffer. 185mb per mini-cdr and the media can be found for 50 cents to a dollar. 6 mini-cdrs is over a gig of music for the road, try that with other solid state players. It also comes with rechargeable batteries that charge inside the player. The only con I have is that it could be a little louder at full volume. Hope this helps.
