Integrating a picture in the profile should not be too difficult. Along with this, it would be easy to allow people to add more details about themselves, such as allowing age to be show, etc.
Would people need the ability to upload a picture, or just link to a picture that already exists on the ?
Once the d.net stats are fully db driven, having new kinds of rankings, such as Jarhead's suggestion, will be much easier.
I like the hardware trading idea. This will require a great deal of planning to develop a solid solution.
I also really like Ray's idea of having a "featured cracker" on the front page which changes (perhaps changes with each reload?). I don't believe this would be extremely difficult.
JimMc: There is a password mailer function on your profile page. ie, click the
Email Mika's Password button on
this page to send my password. There was a design decision to not allow people to enter their own password, as some people (probably not any of us techie people) use the same password everywhere, and we do not wish to have any trouble with stolen passwords.
efun: Also when the stats are db driven, you will have a permanent link to your stats. Something like
http://www.teamanandtech.com/dnet/rc5/fullstats/Mika/default.asp instead of
http://www.teamanandtech.com/dnet/rc5/fullstats/e32/default.asp (which changes as your rank changes).
The map will definately make a reappearence.
osmo: There is definately a need to get more options for other projects on the site. One thing I need for SETI is a way to determine TA SETI members. This will have to be done for the dcypher projects also. This is to confirm that only team members can add links to their projects.
