Tear my site apart....

The MLS button won't work for a little while. They need to build a linked page. One of the links in the listing page is inactive as well. I need to fix that.

I'm more looking for a general impression. It's a fairly vanilla site, I know.

Anyway... Fire away!

*UPDATE*

THANKS GUYS!

I tried to work in a lot of your suggestions. Yes, to a certain extent it's still under development. It won't be complete until I get an MLS page to link to.

But it's as done as I'm going to get it for now. If you have any other suggestions please fire away.

I don't really like the background. Maybe I'm just too used to every site being a solid color there.

Analysis and Recommendations

* TOTAL_HTML - Congratulations, the total number of HTML files on this page (including the main HTML file) is 1 which most browsers can multithread. Minimizing HTTP requests is key for web site optimization.
* TOTAL_OBJECTS - Warning! The total number of objects on this page is 11 - consider reducing this to a more reasonable number. Combine, refine, and optimize your external objects. Replace graphic rollovers with CSS rollovers to speed display and minimize HTTP requests.
* TOTAL_IMAGES - Caution. You have a moderate amount of images on this page (10 ). Consider using fewer images on the site or try reusing the same image in multiple pages to take advantage of caching.
* TOTAL_SIZE - Caution. The total size of this page is 82475 bytes, which will load in over 8 seconds on a 56Kbps modem - or 18.64 seconds. Consider reducing total page size to less than 30K to achieve sub eight second response times on 56K connections. Be sure to provide feedback for pages over 30K by layering your design to display useful content within the first two seconds. Consider optimizing your site with Speed Up Your Site or contacting us about our optimization services.
* HTML_SIZE - Congratulations, the total size of this HTML file is 13100 bytes, which less than 20K. Assuming that you specify the HEIGHT and WIDTH of your images, this size allows your page to display content in well under 8 seconds, the average time users are willing to wait for a page to display without feedback.
* IMAGES_SIZE - Warning! The total size of your images is 69375 bytes, which is over 30K. Consider optimizing your images for size, combining them, and replacing graphic rollovers with CSS.
* MULTIM_SIZE - Congratulations, the total size of all your external multimedia files is 0 bytes, which is less than 4K.

1. Get rid of the JAVA buttons, didn't even show up on my browser. (Firefox, with script blocker)
2. Microsoft FrontPage 4.0"
3. text-decoration: line-through <--WHY would you use that on links??
4. CSS for the win.
5. Use "0" background margins, fix it, and no-repeat it. There is an annoying line when it repeats at the bottom...better yet...use a solid color and let people focus on your content.

P.S. Get a suit, you don't look professional.

change the mouse over effect on the text links, i can't stand it when text changes size

you may want to take the direct email link out and replace it with a contact me form.
two reasons, spam and people who use webmail

last thing, take another photo with at least a collared shirt

Yeah, but he's smiling so you can trust him.

Maybe you should get a shot of your "good" twin.

For some reason, the hover on your links don't work in IE 6 for me until I click on them first.

The listings page looks good, but I think it would be better if the images were a little larger. I think the individual listing pages could benefit from some larger images as well.

Also, on "The Myth" page I would lose the underlining and colon, as well as add a break somewhere in the subtitle, maybe after "Brokers/Bankers." It doesn't all fit on one line and "person" appears on the next line, in my browser (FF, 1152x864).

Not too bad. Easy to navigate and pretty clean.

My suggestions:
- Get rid of the image background or fix it (a poster above described how to), it repeats at the bottom.
- Get rid of the Java buttons and use CSS for a rollover effect.

1) Java for links? No no no, you can do the exact same thing with html and css.
2) The background image is too much. It's distracting and the repeating looks really bad. I like the idea, but you need something that's not as loud and seams together well when it repeats.
3) As a personal preference, I always like to have a home link and the site's logo to also link home.
4) Set the title for each page.
5) As for this image (http://www.onletterhead.com/ImageLoader...71b83-50df-4d9c-9832-8500a5329fc5.gif) that you are using for your footer, I don't understand the light blue beneath the border. I'm assuming that's suppose to match the background color or background image. In your case it does neither. You either need to change that light blue to transparent, or match it with your background image.
6) I like the listings page, but I would make the image of the listing and the title both link to the same place the "Click here for more info..." link does.
7) If your listings are going to link off site, you should also make them target a new window. It makes it really hard to get back to your listings if it doesn't.
8) I'd question the need for the MLS link. It takes them off site and pretty much guarantees you won't be their realtor if they do find something there.
9) I'm assuming this site is still in development, so you probably already know this. The left hand navigation links are really funky. If I click the Listings link, when that page loads, the Search MLS link does not work. However, if I click the Home link, then the Search MLS link does work. However, it really doesn't because it tries to take me to http://www.jononmaui.com/www.mls.com. Also, it's not wise to have the Home link appear after they go somewhere else. It should be at the top of the nav, and it should always be present, even if you are on the home page.
10) One final comment (didn't mean to make this so long). On your listings page, you might want to attach your name, email address, and a quick link to contact you for each listing. So they can look at it and then your contact information is right there for them. Right now, it's clear at the bottom of your listings page, which means most people won't see it when they need it.
