They're still stuck in the mindset of 'time travel, kill the chosen one, show off some wicked yet ineffectual terminator tech'. Oh well.

They are going to use a young actor and put Furlong's face on him for flash-back scenes. There has been discussion about an adult John Connor but nothing confirmed yet. That could be part of a special reveal they want to keep under wraps. Hopefully they keep some details under wraps, nothing ruins movies like showing every damn scene in trailers including what were supposed to be big reveals.

I don't think they're going to worry whether they can get the original actor, they can work around that. They have a planned trilogy, so either John Connor will play some role at some point in this new series, or his character died in the future with the Resistance.

The long preview almost reveals too much but it looks like a good action movie to eat popcorn to.

They should have used Lena Heady as Sarah Conner...LH just looks to aged and worn out for an action flick.

As terminators go, it was awesome. Best one since terminator 2. Nobody should be seriously complaining about the script of a terminator movie.

Its budget on wikipedia is listed as $185-$196 million, so it did a little better than breaking even (assuming the figures are accurate).

Also, the Christian Bale one was pretty shitty. I like where they went with 3. It wasn't as good as the first 2, but it was a pretty good dumb action movie, with some great set pieces.

I thought 3 was pretty entertaining, even without the great twist at the end.

This one was really good too.

And LH seemed to accurately reflect the attitude of someone who saved her son and the world multiple times, only to have her son killed and fucking code-bros figuring out another way to destroy humanity

Maybe it did bomb, but they sent someone back in time to change the script?

Though...we are in the timeline where Terminator Genisys was made, right? That doesn't bode well.

Didn't like T3, probably the weakest one IMHO. Then T4 was a different style...doesn't quite fit, T5 was more enjoyable then I expected.

And now I wait to see T6....probably just stream it.
