Technet accounts reduced to 5 keys per OS

you are treated differently if you have msdn or are a partner that is for sure.

but check out
dreamspark
bizspark
etc
there are alot of new programs that give you more.

It's sad when "deal" forums spread technet and promote using the keys use not in the spirit (and legal term) use.

it's not a great deal - you get keys for testing - not internal use - not development (MSDN) use - not dreamspark, not bizspark.

They do know you have 1 technet coming from all over the u.s. or work and home networks (technet is not to be taken home and used if its registered to a business address) . don't kid yourself the modern apps all phone home. it doesn't take but a few sql statements to see how abused the program is. it's sad. craigslist man. tons of idiots selling technet keys. i hope they rot.

so far i've seen no changes in msdn. maybe because it costs us a lil bit more.

I'm an MCSA and had Technet for two years prior to this change. Seems it doesn't matter.

But yeah, it does seem like they could fairly easily check activation locations by IP and if there's more than one or two from different locations on the same account then require phone activation and explanation. I'd hate to be stuck travelling and trying to load some software on my laptop and get denied, but chances are you won't need to do it more than every once in a while, and if they let occasional use of this then it'd be fine.

But instead everyone is guilty until proven innocent. For what I need TechNet is more than adequate.

Regarding Enterprise license, I can get that with TechNet Pro right? But how is it activated? Don't I need a licensing server?

It will fail activation, just go to Change Product Key and then type in the key. It will activate against Microsoft's activation servers then.
