TechSpot adopts latency benchmarks in new Titan review

I want FPS-graps, I want min-avg-max, I want framtimes...not just a single useless number.

That is what most here want as well.

I for one want much more info about frame times/latencies, Microstutter and min/avg/max fps plus graphs and I'm going to get VERY ANGRY until I get them. I do wish AT would stop the drivel about turgid cases and obscure peripherals and focus on what it's readers (or at least readers of threads like this) want.

BFG says that max/min numbers are useless. Max/min numbers are single point numbers.

Umm no. He was ranting that that is all Anandtech provided was an average FPS number. Nothing else. Not even single point min or max. Nada. Bare minimum in their reviews for quite a while now.
And it looks like they will be one of the last to jump on the frametime bandwagon, perhaps let other sites do all the hard legwork first.
H has the best charts and reviews I think. Nice graphs over time and shows how much time is spent at certain fps. That is nice.

Yeah, where are the SLI reviews etc with the WC NV Titan monster they got....Its not like they are reviewing dozens of GPUs a week.....

Quality dropped..and it's a damn shame.
Anand's articles are ususally stuffed with the technical "gravy" I like, I just wish they would be just as technical in their performance tests.

How is a single number going to get me under the "hood" and jugde the real world performance?

So you get a single maximum when staring at the sky, and a single minimum from anything ranging from a streaming glitch to OS noise. How exactly are these two extra points going to show you “FP fluxtutions”?

Heck, you can get different min/max points with the same configuration just by repeatedly running the same benchmark. These are elementary concepts of benchmarking.

By definition min/max are single points, so they’re absolutely useless for anything. Either go with full plots or just post up an average, but certainly don’t bother with useless minimum/maximum scores.

You do whatever you like to "take it further". But if you don't like people disagreeing with you, maybe an open forum isn't the best place for you. Have you considered your own blog with comments disabled?
