Damn Teenagers. I think they should have 18+ movie times, for when you dont want to have to put up with kids screaming, barging past you etc etc.

this should be applied to all events, the motor show, the local carnival, movies, bowling alleys....

I hate when your looking at somthing interesting at the motor show, and you get kids force their way in front of you to look at the same thing, and their parents are incapable of controlling them.

When teenagers make noise in the the movies i just throw stuff at them.

you simply CAN NOT go on Friday and Saturday nights. Hell 20 years ago in HS I did that and I'm sure I, and all my friends were obnoxious as hell. I would not even think of going to movie at those times nowadays. I'm sure the kids are just as bad if not worse. Go "off hours" and everything is fine.

I saw a Matinee of Star Trek on the thursday it came out. Thats about the only time worth going. It also happened to be unusually slow for a matinee.

Is texting during a movie bad etiquette, I don't mean holding ur phone up so it blinds everyone but keeping it down below ur seat so the light doesn't bother anyone?

That is when you get up and beat the crap out of them . Don't worry, everyone else is in there is thinking of doing it, they just don't have the guts !

I love that scene from Scary Movie, where she is talking on the cell phone in the theater.

Refuse to go to the theatres unless I know I can pick a time when the teens and those who talk back at the screen will not be there.

I would say there's two sides to this.

I went to a movie once where a group of about 15 teenagers were carrying on whenever something happened in the movie (Kiss scene, car chase, w/e) and by the end people were doing the death stare thing, but not actually saying anything, myself included. In retrospect I probably should say something whenever that happens, and when I go to the theater the phone is put on slient and I watch the movie.

The other side is when my friends are texting, they try to not sit in the center where they'll bother everyone and will sit close to the screen to keep the noise farther from others. They also use vibrate and try not to make too much noise in general. That and they go to the bathroom/get refill/whatever if the movie's at a slow point or something. We aren't all bad

I went to a movie about a year ago where a guy behind me spent most of it talking on his cell phone. Between the volume in the theater, the fact he was talking very softly, and that he wasn't speaking English, I could only pick up on it every now and again during points of quiet on screen. It actually took me a while to figure out it wasn't just some strange bit of background noise in the movie itself.

Still, this guy was going for well over an hour, easily more than half the movie. It was an evening show, too, and I couldn't help but think, what on earth would make someone blow $10 just to sit in a dark theater and talk on their phone. He could have sat in his car in the parking lot and done that for free!

Go to a morning show. Saturday morning. Only the dedicated go. Most teenagers aren't even awake at that time.

How do you define "morning show"? Because no theater I've ever seen has screenings before noon.

Maybe its in your area.

Plus it also depends on movies too. Not ever movie gets shown before noon. Only the big ones.

Look up Transformers Revenge of the Fallen in your area. There are a couple that show it before noon. I have no clue how far those theaters are from you though. I just randomly picked Ottawa.

I just went to the fancy theater in my area that has a similar setup. Full recliners, full service, food, drinks, etc. There were no issues like the op had. It cost 20 bucks, but then they give you 10 bucks off of concessions. So it comes out pretty nice if you get a couple of drinks or popcorn. In the end I think its worth it.

If you want to pay $2 for something tasty....the Chinese and Mexicans have that one nailed.

Honestly, replacing meat with beans is the most environmentally friendly thing most of us can do - even more so than replacing your Tacoma with a Prius. And tasty beans is the only way you can really do this.

This is why I like going to see movies at the Alamo Drafthouse. It's a regional chain of theaters, but they don't allow anyone under 18 inside and they serve food/alcohol in the theater. I've never had any disruptive people during any of the shows I've been to.

Maybe they have similar theaters elsewhere in the US - I'm just giving the one I go to as an example.

I've noticed this. I've also noticed the annoying tendency for 90% of my friends to constantly talk to each other and do other stuff whenever we "watch" a movie. More like put on a movie and let it go in the background, occasionally paying attention when something interesting happens. I wish they'd just skip putting the movie on if no one's going to watch it - I don't want to spoil the ending of a movie I haven't even seen and may want to watch again on my own when there are no distractions.

hey fucknut...texting is just as distracting as talking...this is why theatres here are instituting a 'see a cell phone on get asked to leave" policy.

The man speaks the truth...

Honestly, why the hell would you go to a movie if you want to leave at a "slow point". What's a slow point? A part with dialogue, or you, yourself, think is boring? Stay at home, or wait for the DVD if you want it to be a social event.
