Does anyone have this adapter. Cannot determine if the ultra wide and narrow channel can be used simultaneously.

Yes, I have this controller, and yes, it allows simultaneous use of all channels. Have my 2 LVD hard drives on one, and DVD, CDR, Tape & Zip on the other.

thanks Rob. however, i do have the same. and the manual clearly states you have two channels. what i meant is can you use the 50 and 68 wide at the same time. like a ultra wide disk and player/burner at the same time. I have been unsuccessful.

You must have something set incorrectly. All channels will work simultaneously as on my system described above which uses the LVD channel for hard drives and the narrow(50 pin) channel for the peripheral drives. Also connected is a scanner externally. Both chains must be terminated, and you have to be sure no SCSI IDs are used more than once. Active termination is preferred in all cases, with HDs using IDs 0(boot) and 1. Enter your SCSI setup at boot and check all settings.

thanks rob. mine operates as you state. lvd on J1, and cds on cn1. not problem. these are the two channels as stated on page 11. however, if you add a se 68 wide hd on cn2 it will work, but will eventually error out or be corrupted. it appears that there are really only two channels. if you operate cn1 and cn2 on my setup it will eventually crash the drive. yes I did use 0,1 and termination combinations. My question has nothing to do with the ultra2 bus. it is isolated. do you have a se ulta wide on cn2 and the legacy devices on cn1. not doubting your word. If you have the time. try putting the lvd on the cn2 connector at se speed. it will not be slower except in burst, unless you have a x15. backup first.

I have not had any problems using all three internal connectors at the same time.

50 pin - pioneer 303s dvd
68 pin - plextor ultraplex wide
68 lvd - quantum atlas 10k
