I would have to disagree with Heist. The acting was subpar and the actors just never really seemed to click with one another. The dialog seemed contrived and forced; very little flow to the show.

Too bad, too, because it was an interesting (if not original) premise.

Oh, and Threshold. Close to Home and it were tied in ratings, so what's CBS do? Switch the two shows' timeslots. Close to Home received absolutely no ratings boost whatsoever, but Threshold crashed and burned beceause it wasn't a show you could jump into the middle of.

To be fair, that's not bad marketing, that's just bad scheduling, but the point stands.

Sorry, but I thought that Firefly sucked. The whole "Wild West in Space" thing didn't work for me at all. The movie was pretty cool, though.

A couple not mentioned yet:

The Others
Andy Richter Controls the Universe

I really liked Arrested Development, but it was a tough show for people to get into, the humor was pretty dry, not your usual sitcom jokes. I think they advertised it pretty well. There is one commercial which really stands out, Jason Bateman actually offered up their Emmy award to Carmen Electra (who was there to beg in a skimpy outfit) if X million people watched the season 2 premier. Very funny ad.

WTF, half the shows people are naming were not poorly marketted, they just weren't popular. Carnivale was marketted out the wazoo by HBO and was marketted appropriately. It just did not keep people's interest. Perhaps because it was slow as a snail in molasses the first season. Dark Angel? I saw an ad for that every 5 seconds when it was on.

- Space Above & Beyond
- Treshold
- Dark Angel
- Sliders

They wanted to cancel Sliders for a long time before the end and they should have, too bad things turned out as they did. One of the best series *EVER*.

Enterprise got cut not because of lack of advertising but lack of a quality storyline that alienated both trek fans and potential fans

if they would of done 1&2 as general character and plot development like in ds9 (good foundation) then started in on the leadups to the romulan war and then finally the war itsself which this show was supposed to be about it would of done good enough numbers to stay going for 7 seasons

Dude, it lasted 9 years. Didn't it fizzle out because David Duchovney left?
My vote goes to Sports Night. It was critically acclaimed, and everyone I know who has seen it has loved it. I don't know if it just had a bad time slot or what... but it only lasted two seasons. West Wing, another Aaron Sorkin show, started the same year Sports Night ended and was pretty much identical in style and it lasted like 7 years. It could have lasted longer if Sorkin didn't leave after the 4th season.
Possibly my all time favorite show, even more so that I only got a light taste and it went away.
Got the DVD's, and also started on Six Feet Under to take care of my Peter Krouse fix.
But that show had too many good actors to die so quickly.
Was it really the bad marketing that killed it?
