I would add, however, that there's nothing wrong with being a loon, if one has a knack for it, and it is done in such a way as not to frighten small children or offend one's neighbors.

Amish, there's nothing wrong with being different. However, being different, as you've discovered, does draw criticism from those who see it as different. This holds with all things, even in nature. I once saw a wildlife show where one antelope was white, an albino. It's beauty was breath-taking, but the others recognized it as different, and chased it away from the safety of the herd. Being different is tough, but it can be beautiful, nonetheless.
