Btw, I'll consider myself officially a fatty when large ACUs/BDUs no longer fit. They do come in XL for official issue, but I can't imagine someone they fit being effective in war.

New a pacific islander guy in the AF that was late on the switch from the old 'Nam BDU's to the current (maybe?) pixelated BDUs (back in ... 08? 09?) due to chest size, he wore the largest BDUs they had and his buttons had a hard time at that. Reduced the max size for newer BDUs for a while until enough people complained I think.

Guy could bench press a truck, still got in under his run time too. Had to turn sideways to get through some doors. Funny guy.

When I hit ~35 years old, my metabolism pretty much stopped. I used to be skinny as a rail, now I'm "big" -- I wouldn't say "fat" but I could stand to lose 20lbs or so for sure.
Right around that same time I blew out my ankle, then my knee and that cut out my exercise (basketball) and I just can't get back on that wagon.
I do love my sweets and certainly don't shy away from the carbs either.

Always been fat. Drank too much pop and ate too much sugar as a child. Never cared about sports.
I cut out all pop, cut down on alcohol almost to 0, and cut down on sugars/carbs. My calories are down 500-1000 calories per day vs my 20s. The weight is stable, but it's not coming off.

That's kind of funny. I worked for years next door to an office with a guy. Mid 30s (at first), he was rail thin when I started, but ten years later he was bloated with a huge paunch belly. He _always_ had a bag of tortilla chips on his desk.

BSCB is under $2/lb. Dried beans are $1/lb. Even buying packaged pico de gallo I'm at under $2.25 each meal for doing my own chipotle bowls.

This. Also have to consider how much your time is worth. Cooking takes a lot of time vs something you can throw in the microwave.

Been trying to cook more myself but it's a hard thing to discipline myself to do because of how much work and time it takes. That and I don't know what half the ingredients even are when I look at a recipe. Then I say FTS and order pizza.
