<< You actually got a reply back from your emails? I thought emails to them just go straight to the trash folder. I've sent maybe about 50 emails to them now. And none of them got a reply. After a while, I just send random stuff to them. Like once, I included an ASCII nude picture. >>

Weird. I've had no problems with the email support, and I've used it 3 or 4 times with fast responses. Once, because I was charged an activation fee when I switched phones, when the phone CSR specifically said I wouldn't be (was taken off after the email), a couple of billing inquiries (thought I was being overcharged, but wasn't...my fault), and once to inquire about when some accessories for my phone would be in stock on the website.

Actually, I just thought of something that does really suck about SPCS. Their website. ARGGGHHH! It's always down when I want to pay my bill, forms always time out when you submit them, and it takes like 3 or 4 tries to successfully order something from the shopping site. :|

I just left Sprint myself. I have been using it for about 6 months now. Very poor signal strength here in Cleveland, Oh and around the Boston area where I have been working. Just got my Verizon phone today and could make calls from inside my apartment. So long Sprint...

Been a sprint customer for about 6 months. Many dropped calls. Didn't know that I could get credit for that. The main problem is the $590 bill last month. We have the family plan. I was led to believe by a CSR that I could check all the usage in my account for both phones either by calling *4 or by the internet. This method is misleading in that it only tells the number of minutes that the main phone has used, not the second phone. This was not clarified by the CSR. Thus, I thought I had plenty of minutes while the second phone blew all the regular minutes in the first week! Sprint must have seen this potential for misleading the customer. They should have either fixed it, not offer a method to check minutes, or clearly state that this could happen. As it is now, you just get a disclaimer the the minutes used may not be up to date. Any ideas on how to handle this one?

Ha, this was brought back from the dead.

Read my earlier post in this thread.

I'm still happy as a snail in a flower bed with Verizon. (Of course that may change if I ever need to up my minutes on my current single rate midwest plan, since it's no longer offered.)

BTW, try calling them up and see if they will switch you up to a higher number of minutes retroactive to that billing cycle. If they say no, call and ask someone else, and lastly, ask to talk to a supervisor. If you get no satisfaction, call and talk to the "cancellation department." That's when they get really friendly. (Charge your battery and grab a six-pack, you'll be on the phone for awhile with this one.)

I have had SprintPCS for 3 years and have had no problems. I get much better reception than my friends with Verizon / AT&T and a HELL of a lot better reception than those crap Cingular phones. Sometimes I'll get no service or dropped calls inside a large building, but that's it.

Ive also driven from LA to Vegas with no interruption in service, and from Colorado Springs to Lake Powell, utah with minimal interruptions while in the middle of the mountains. My cell was working PERFECTLY winding through the rockies.. good enough for me to have a 2 hour fight and breakup with my g/f at the time. :|

You guys must not live in Kansas City, the home of Sprint. Probably due to a lack of competition here, the service is horrible. AT&T just started in KC with a $49.95 unlimited local calling plan, so I expect the service will start to get better so they can compete. Until then I will continue to get people to switch.

Besides them telling me I owed them $500 on my cellphone after I had called them weeks before to report my phone stolen? Besides that they are fantastic.

Thanks all for your suggestions. I will call them and see what they can do. Worse case senario, I quit and take the credit hit.

I live in Lawrence, work in KC, and the service here is borderline excellent.

I travel all along 435, I35-69, 169, etc, and have hardly a hiccup.

Do you by chance work underground?

I'm not too fond of Nextel. With Sprint PCS at least I can get an analog signal if no digital service is available. Nextel is digital only and their signal is no better than sprint's.
Also had an i1000+ die on me. Total lock up. Had to get another one and reprogram in all my numbers.
I'd hardly call Nextel superior to Sprint.

I tried to cancel my Sprint PCS account and they offered me a free month. Great I said. Even though I'm not going to use it, who am I to turn down a free month. So the next month I call back to cancel and the lady tells me that since I took the free month I somehow agreed to sign up for another year. F**K that. I told her to cancel my account. She said well since I used the extra month I would have to pay for it. She told me "we are not in the business of giving away free months". So I asked to speak to her supervisor. "He's not going to tell you anything different" Thats fine I said. So I'm on hold for about 20 minutes. She comes back..."You still want to talk to a supervisor?" Obviously just trying to make me give up by making me wait. Yes I said. So she puts me back on hold. Then she comes back and tells me she'll give me one free month but I have to pay for the next month. By that time I'm on the phone almost an hour and I'm at work so I agreed. Feeling completely screwed I called up the next month to cancel and thankfully the lady I talked to was 10000% better and gave me all the free months I was supposed to get and canceled my service. Screw Sprint PCS. AT&T has been great for me ever since.

No, I do not work underground. I am really surprised at everybody who actually likes the service they get from Sprint. I can honestly say that I have not talked to a single person here is KC that is happy with them. So many dropped calls. In the month or so that I have had Nextel, I have probably dropped five calls. I used to drop more than that in a day with Sprint! I guess thats good they are at least making some people happy, but I will never use them for anything again.

Sprint is a bag of mixed blessings. And curses.

I used Sprint PCS for the better part of a year. Very good coverage, but very small coverage area. Never had any trouble getting a signal indoors or in buildings, even. The problem was the coverage area. Only along major highways/interstates and the larger cities. Go a few miles out, forget about it. Then you can spend $0.75 a minute to roam on an archaic analog tower and half the time you can't receive calls because they aren't routed to you. Then you get to spend that $0.75 a minute checking your voice mail. Not pretty.

I was also very disappointed with Sprint's customer service. They don't have a friggin' clue. And waiting 45 minutes to an hour (especially during peak hours) to get a hold of someone (besides that annoying compubizzitch Claire) ... well, no thanks.

I recently made the switch to VoiceStream, and couldn't be happier. I like my new Nokia 8290 a lot better than the Samsung 3500 I was using. It's much smaller, lighter, and has better battery life. VoiceStream doesn't offer the analog roaming, but who cares? I'd just as soon have no service for a few minutes on occasion than spend several dollars in roaming fees just to check my voice mail. The digital coverage is significantly better than Sprint's, covering several cities I frequent here Sprint did not. Although, I find the signal not quite as good as Sprint's (especially indoors), it is certainly useable. And you can't beat $35 a month for unlimited minutes throughout the state.

The only thing I miss with Sprint is the Wireless Web. It was handy sometimes. But certainly not enough to keep me paying those idiots $70 a month for a measly 600 "anytime" minutes. They can shove their 5,400 "9PM" minutes where the sun don't shine.

Well, you know from their name thay won't go the distance for you (Sprint and then winded) . . .

Their CSR did not tell me the truth when I signed up for Sprint "service". I cancelled within 3 days (I made ONE completed cell call) and had to talk to at least 7 CSRs to get them to cancel my service (without billing me the $150 early cancel fee).

Well, they messed that up . . . they kept adding service plans instead of crediting me (like 5 extra phones).

Supposedly, this is streightened out (I did receive another $500 bogus billing recently).

No Sprint for me. Ever.

I did sign up with AT&T wireless (despite my dislike for AT&T long distance) . . . good service!

No more Sprint for me. They really trick you with that add a phone option. You can't keep track of the minutes used on the second phone until after you are in overage minutes. Watch out if you have the family plan!
