Do you have a set schedule?
Its pretty much set. But coming late or leaving early is never a problem.

What hours/days do you normally work?
My schedule is M-F, 8:30-5:00 but I'm always here before 8 and 95% of the time I leave before 5.

Do you like your current schedule?
Its not bad.

Do you travel for work?
A few times a year. Now that the boy is grown, I am thinking about taking on more travel.

Ever on call?
Technically: no. But I regularly get calls and answer emails from home. I don't mind.

Ever work from home?
No. Too many distractions.

Ever get called in?
Yes but its very rare since everyone in the office works the same schedule.

What would your perfect schedule be?
I like this one. I don't know if I have a perfect one.

1) No, as long as I put in the hours I bill for, it doesn't matter when for most engagements
2) Typically when not on a remote client site, I work 11-7 because I am not a morning person and I hate waking up; I'm useless early anyway and my employer understands and embraces that by allowing me to work when I'm most comfortable.
3) Yes
4) Yes but generally only ~20% of the year
5) Nope
6) Yes, but not often
7) Nope
8) See above, I already have it for my tastes

Do you have a set schedule?

Not really, but I try to do 7 AM to 4 PM every day. I'm similar to Platypus above in that as long as I put in the hours I bill for, they really don't care when I work them.

What hours/days do you normally work?
I shoot for 7 AM to 4 PM M-F. I will have rare weekend work for project go-lives.

Do you like your current schedule?
Yes

Do you travel for work?
Not for this job so far.

Ever on call?
Not in the traditional sense.

Ever work from home?
I work from home 100% of the time.

Ever get called in?
Nope.

What would your perfect schedule be?
I like my schedule the way it is.

Do you have a set schedule?
Yep, 8:30 to 4:30 with some variation possible

What hours/days do you normally work?
Monday through friday, 8am to 4:30pm with 30 minutes lunch
But, I have the chance to have one monday off every other week, which is awesome

Do you like your current schedule?
A lot

Do you travel for work?
No but I need a car for inspections and my mileage is paid

Ever on call?
Never

Ever work from home?
Never

Ever get called in?
Never

What would your perfect schedule be?
The one I have

1) 8-4
2) M-F
3) I do, but it isn't ideal. My boss works 9:30 to 5:30, and the rest of the office works 8:30 to 4:30, so it has occasionally put me in an awkward position where I would need to leave to meet an outside of work commitment when others aren't expecting it (e.g. in a meeting, etc.). My ideal is for the entire organization to shift its working hours to match my ideal, which would probably be something like 7-3. But that's insanely unrealistic.
4) I commute 45 mins each way plus traffic. Occasional conference.
5) Not in the traditional sense.
6) Yes but I don't like it due to the collaborative nature of what I do.
7) Not yet, usually asked to stay late, or impose that on myself if needed outside normal hours.
8) 7-3, but only if the rest of my organization followed suit.

Do you have a set schedule?

Yes, but it's somewhat flexible.

What hours/days do you normally work?

M-F, 0730 - 1600. Sometimes I come in later and work later.

Do you like your current schedule?

Yeah. I wouldn't mind a bit more sleep but I like having some free time in the late afternoon when I get home.

Do you travel for work?

Sometimes. In previous roles I've traveled once every 6-8 weeks. In my current role I only travel once or twice a year.

Ever on call?

For storm duty. In the past we've had on call weeks (6 or so per year) where we're expected to be available. No on-call pay, but if you do actually get called in you get 1.5x. This year they're trying to move to us being on call basically 1/3 of the time. That's not happening until I'm compensated.

Ever work from home?

Rarely, when I'm not feeling well or have some need to be home. I try to avoid it because I'm far more efficient/focused in the office.

Ever get called in?

Just for storm duty. Occasionally something will come up that I can remote in and handle from home.

What would your perfect schedule be?

0 hours per week? Aside from that dream, I think my schedule is pretty ideal.

Do you have a set schedule?

Yep

What hours/days do you normally work?

8am-4pm, Mon-Fri, no Weekends

Do you like your current schedule?

Love it, yes.

Do you travel for work?

Eh, about a 25 minute drive, in fair traffic. 30-35 in rush hour.

Ever on call?

Not now.

Ever work from home?

No, not yet.

Ever get called in?

No, I'm not on call.

What would your perfect schedule be?

What would make my schedule perfect is if I could leave at exactly 4 everyday. Sometimes, I can...but normally I'm in my car at about 4:30-4:40.

Haven't worked since 15th December but when I have a contract on it is 7 days a week 12-14 hours a day.

Do you like your current schedule?

Yes, been dicking around for the last month and a half

Do you travel for work?

All over the UK

Ever on call?

No although I get technical questions sent to me at all hours

Ever work from home?

Only if I have to send in some paperwork, very minimal

Ever get called in?

Can get called into a job on short notice but that usually mean 24/48 hours notice

What would your perfect schedule be?

Other than winning the lottery and retiring pretty much what I do now, I enjoy the free time at home to catch up with family and I love my work so the days fly by when I am on a job

Do you have a set schedule?
In theory, yes. In practice, no. Work demands are too variable.

What hours/days do you normally work?
Varies

Do you like your current schedule?
Yep

Do you travel for work?
About two months per year, more if busy field season. This year looks to be at least three months due to out of town training.

Ever on call?
Technically on call at all times. In practice, on call April-September.

Ever work from home?
Rarely.

Ever get called in?
Yep. During field season I get calls to pack my bags and be three states away by the next morning. Get home three weeks later.

What would your perfect schedule be?
People would just send me big bags of money and every few days I'd step out on the porch to scoop them up.

Set schedule -

8 pm - 4 pm 3 weeks each month. 12 am - 4 am 1 week each month.

Work from home the entire 12 am-4 am week, and 3 days of each 8 pm-4 pm week.

Not on call yet, but will be if they hire me full time.

I like the schedule, working overnight is kind of weird but I'm up by 10 and have the whole day to myself. I might prefer 9-5 or even 10-6 for normal weeks though... I REALLY hate waking up in the morning regardless of what time I go to bed.

Do you have a set schedule?
Expected hours is 8-5 with an hour lunch

What hours/days do you normally work?
Since I'm in the east coast and my boss is in the west coast, nobody really check our work times as long as the job get done. I usually end up working 9-6 give or take

Do you like your current schedule?
See the last question

Do you travel for work?
About two weeks out of the year mostly for training and attending seminars.

Ever on call?
We're on call for any incidents but they're rare and few and level 1 and 2 usually takes care of issues. If it gets to our team, there's some major serious issues that will involve the VP. Happens once a year.

Ever work from home?
WFH 4 days of the week and go in once a week. My work requires research access to certain websites and services that are blocked at work so it's just easier to work from home with unrestricted internet. Also from home I can get faster thruput VPN directly to the data center than if I go to the office and use the slow shared WAN link.

Ever get called in?
Only when I have to get hands on with servers/hardware in the lab.

What would your perfect schedule be?[/QUOTE]
Retired and not have to work anymore

Do you have a set schedule?
No. Startup Internet company.

What hours/days do you normally work?
It depends on a lot of things, but generally ~8am-5pm. Sometimes I'll put in 12 hours a day, sometimes a few hours on the weekends. I set my own goals and deadlines and I don't like feeling behind schedule.

Do you like your current schedule?
Yes, the flexibility is amazing.

Do you travel for work?
No. There will likely be minimal travel (a few hours drive) soon but not so far.

Ever on call?
Technically yes, I guess, but it's never been used.

Ever work from home?
Every day There's no office to go to, really (one of my partners has an office fairly nearby but it's just large enough for him).

Ever get called in?
No.

What would your perfect schedule be?
This is it. I don't mind putting in hours when it's necessary to meet a deadline, but I hated when I had to put in 80 hours a week just to stay afloat when I worked for a very small company many years ago. But now if I need to take the kids to school, the doctor, sports practice, etc. I can do so when I want, and with mobile Internet I can work there too.
