We set the thermostat to 71 in winter. Yes, its a bit warmer, but we feel its better to pay the gas company a little more than having to take off work for the flu. Likewise, in the summer, we prefer it a bit chilled, like fine wine at 68 degrees.

I know that it's really hard to believe, and sounds a bit preposterous, but the flu is actually caused by a tiny little thing (so small you can't even see it without a microscope!) called a virus. I know, I know, this can't possibly be true, right? It sounds like nonsense made up by insane people. But I swear it's true. Seriously dude, look it up. It's some crazy shit!!!

back on topic:
No way am I going to freeze my ass off to save ten bucks on my gas bill.
In the winter, we set our thermostat to 70.
In the summer, we set it to 75.

70 is good when wearing long pants.
75 is good when wearing shorts.

Right now, probably closing on 60°F, and it'll level off at 55 - I'm at work, and the thermostat is programmable.
When I'm home, it'll be closer to the mid-upper 70's.

68 during the day and 64 at night, which is warmer than normal because of my 9mo son. Before he was born, it was 66-67 during the day and 55 at night. Last winter when my wife was pregnant, she couldn't stand it above 61 at any time. She'd be wearing shorts and I'd be wearing a jacket (or at least a heavy sweater). We certainly saved a lot on heating costs though

I'm going to guess it's at 68, but it could be at anything from 66 to 70 depending on the whims of my wife. I now live my life assuming that there is no thermostat. It keeps the peace. I'm in a better place now. I told my wife if she can stand an old naked fat man walking around the house then I'll stop telling her that she is supporting the terrorists every time she turns the heat up.

For the winter I connect the thermostat in the basement, and set that to keep the lower level at 69 degrees. This usually keeps the upstairs at around 70, but it can fluctuate from there up to 72 or so.

Larry: You know, I can't sleep, it's too hot at night. I wanna sleep in 68° temperature, she wants to sleep in 75°—let's compromise at 72°.
Leon: Oh no, f*ck that Larry, you my motherf*ckin' man Larry but 72°? Sh*t, I'd rather sleep outside. I'm a 82° man myself.
Loretta: See there, I told you.
Leon: 82°, that's my sh*t. That's my f*ckin' region right there.
Loretta: [looks at Larry] And you really want it at 68°?
Leon: 60-f*ckin'-8?!? He said 68°?!?
Loretta: He said 68°!
Leon: Get the f*ck outta here!

I have no clue, the thermostat is set at 80 and it was 33F going to work. The fiancee says its too cold and the tile is cold on the feet. Last time I looked it was 62 Degrees in the house. I never run the heat.
