What is the best way to get accurate temperature readings of the CPU? Which program, device, etc?

The reason I am asking is because my temps using Corecell (MSI Neo2 thing), MBM5, and Everest and they all report different temperatures. Not sure which one to trust. Furthermore, I just downloaded the latest chipset drivers for my mobo and my load temps (according to these programs) went from 51-52oC to 59-60oC. wtf? Any insight is much appreciated.

System spec's usually are must for getting good information...Even down to what revision BIOS you are using.

As posted, we need to know what you have for hardware and such. I get the same temp readings from all monitoring software, depending on their refresh rates. If they refresh at the same time/frequency, then the temps are within 1C of each other. Often changing to match the other software within a few seconds (could be a fraction of a second off, giving the different readings).

Check for bios updates for your mobo. Often, a bios update will correct improper readings from the on board temp sensors...

There's a bug with the early version of CoreCenter where it's reported temps are 4 degrees Celsius higher than they really are. Upgrading to the latest version will fix that.

I've used Speedfan, MBM5, Everest, and Core Center to monitor temps/voltages. They all give the same readings. My favorite is Everest because that reports other motherboard settings such as HTT, RAM timings, CPU speed. To get current temps/voltages with Everest you have to click on Computer and then click on Sensor. That will give real time temperature measurements.

It turned out that it was the cold boot problem. Once I restarted, all the temps were nominal.
