Temperature Measurement During Beachmark

I frequently see people describing how they monitor the temperature of their GPU during benchmark and stress tests. I just downloaded 3D Mark 03 and ran it a few times, but I don't see any way to monitor GPU temperature during the test. I tried running the V-Tuner II utility that comes with my Gigabyte 6800 GT, but I can't run it on top without aborting the benchmark run.

I'm having game crash and the occasional blue screen during games like Doom 3, and I'd like to make sure my GPU isn't overheating. How can I do this?

I personally use a second monitor so I just put my temp monitors over there. I thought you could run your display properties on top of a program that is running? If so, then use the temp tab in there to monitor.

Are you talking about the display menu that you get when you right click on the desktop and select Properties? If so, I've never noticed a temperature monitor tab or option, but I'll check.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes, that is the correct menu. Hit the advanced button and then select the geforce tab. There should be a pullout menu on the left and one of the slections is GPU temp. I dunno if that is with all the cards, or just certain ones but I believe it is any who have that driver. (sorry, I am still new to the nVidia scene)

Get Rivatuner. You can record your temps to a log file that you start before your benchmark and stop after the benchmark. Then you can see the time-progression of the temp...and therefore the max during the test.

I just downloaded RivaTuner yesterday. I'll check that out. Thank you.
