Which program is more accurate? Realtemp or CPUID Hardware Monitor?

When i use both, they seem to vary by about 2oC between the two programs

Are those max temps recorded while under full load? They seem really low to me, especially since your at 4.0Ghz.

They should have about the same accuracy, and about the same as the Open Hardware Monitor. They all read the core temp from a MSR (register). The difference comes from reading the sensors at different times. Except of course, they use a different TjMax, which you might have set manually in one of the programs.

Uncleweb is a pal of mine, and i trust his programing.

I helped him fix real temp to realtemp GT that works on gulftowns.

they are idle temps. i was wondering about the temperature difference, cause if the hardware monitor is more accurate, it seems like i might be able to oc a bit more before i reach 70c

i think your at the limit of that V8.

Well, first off lemme tell you what those temps really mean.
There Numbers which represents tjmax, and are purely extrapolated by a diode inside your cpu.

This diode also tells the cpu at 105 to immediately shut down to prevent damage on the silicon.

Now on an intel processor, id trust uncleweb, since he mostly wrote realtemp for intel processors.

That is why i said id go with realtemp.
