How many pounds do you think this desk, with a 1/4" tempered glass top, can support?

/me eyes 21" Trinitron in the corner nervously...

Personally I'd feel MUCH better if it was half-inch...

LOL, trying to stay away from the trial-and-error approach.

Do you know what a center-punch is? O_O

Yes, I sure do. I have neither the time nor equipment to determine the psi sustained at a given point on the glass so it wouldnt instantly shatter.

Whose house/car are YOU breaking into anyway?

Yea the music is ridiculous. Last time i visited the site, there wasnt a dance dance revolution soundtrack.

...and last time there were no online manuals either (my link was an old bookmark). 50lbs is a definite no-go, these are at least 70+. Thx guys.

Well if you can find the yield strength of the glass just take the weight of whatever you put on the desk and divide by the area to get an estimate for the stress. Simple mechanics. As long as you stay under the yield strength you should be alright.

I have my 32" Widescreen CRT on 1/4" tempered glass, supported by a square of metal tubing underneath

21 inch flat panel. problem solved. i'm sure this desk isn't cheap but then again nice things cost you more. just get a flat panel or a shelf level with the desk to put behind teh desk to put the monitor on. it can extend the whole length of the desk so u have extra space for things like a printer or scanner or cd/dvd pies
