I've applied AS5 three times. Each time I apply it the cpu temp drops to an incredible 28C, which is great. Run it hard or let it idle and the temps stay below 32C, so I'm thinking this stuff is awesome, but within about 5 hours after the application of the AS 5 my cpu temp starts climbing up. Idle it's now 40C and when gaming it's in the mid 40's.
When I removed the HS it looked like the AS5 had been pushed out or was basically no longer covering the die. I can clearly see through to the top of the chip and also the copper in my SLK-800. As far as I know, I have applied it according to the directions each time. I've even strayed away and went from the thin spread to a BB size drop in the center and let the HS spread it around. The temps are not a problem, but I am curious to know if this is typical of AS?
Info:
XP2400
SLK800 \ 80mm Speeze fan @2730RPM
Abit NF7
Case temp 24C-27C
