Temps have really bumped up.......

Since I installed a pair of Sapphire 4800's, temps have gone up some 15-20 C. Currently, MB is 54C, processor is 49C and the boards are 54C and 50C respectively. Question is, are these high enough to cause big problems, or acceptably hot? I've an Antec P180 case with 4 fans plus the fans onboard the vid boards.

It's a very busy case with multiple drives installed and is quite cramped (the Sapphires are big suckers).

Those are idle temps? What about the temps at load? Even for idle temps those look fine to me. Must have been very cool in there before. Seems that your cooling is good but I'm guessing your system is on the noisy side with all those fans.

What setting do you have the Tri Cool fans that came with the case set to? I bump all mine up from low to medium over the summer months. It doesn't increase noise too much but seems to lower temps around 5C for me.

Yes these are idle temps. This is on a reload of my OS as well as the new hardware, so I haven't been able to run any games as yet. I'll post again if it gets way high under load.

Yes, I did put the setting in Catalyst up to max for fan speed. I do hear the fans all right, but it's not too instrusive for me.

For now, I'm satisfied that these temps are still considered OK. I assume that if they push up to 80 - 100C, that's waay too much.

you worry too much, my idle temps are as follows: motherboard 55C, radeon 4870 80C, northbridge 85C.

80 - 100C might be too hot for most components, but the Radeon 48xx cards don't have any problem up above 80C. In fact, most of the OEM BIOS have automatic fan control settings that don't ramp the fan speed up much until it breaks 80C, so you are quite likely to hit these temps when gaming.

yep, fan is at 23% until temperature hits 80C, then it switches to 26%. for less than 70C fan speed is even lower.
