Depends on how competitive the game is. Are you playing, or playing to win? Its poor form, just like striking your opponent with the ball but its a valid play.

Not really, nobody actually aims for hitting the net and having it trickle over, you'd probably fail 98% of the time if you seriously tried to do it so it's almost always an accident. In Baseball you can get on base something like 20 different ways, in Tennis it's basically either you hit a winner or the other guy makes a mistake, and in this situation the point winner actually makes a mistake by hitting the net but still gets the point because he hit it hard enough and in such a way that the net doesn't knock it down on his side.

You don't need to go out of your way to apologize. Usually just holding your hand up towards them in an apologetic way is good enough. You'll see how it's usually done if you watch pro tennis.

Yes, it is part of historical tennis etiquette. But it doesn't mean people follow tennis etiquette in general.

Kind of like in fencing where if you hit someone in the dick you are kinda happy (cause you got the touche) but you are asking if they are okay, but still kinda smirking cause you know it hurt em.
