I got these on Black Friday and they are CMC but they work fine for me I have backed up about 8 movies on these and they work fine and read in 6 different DVD players. I use Fuji Ty media for good backups though but for a backup for a format and reinstall files they are fine.

i also got these on black friday - i have been using them to back up DVD's and so far not one coaster.

-this seems hot to me! although someoen posed that compusa going to have 100pk for 14.99 (probably those generic ones) but i know ppl that use those and swear by them..

My previous Black Friday purchase has worked fine on my PHILIPS DVD+-RW DVD8631.

Gee, for a whole $5 I'll take my chances on something that burns at rated speed (or faster) with no coasters and works in my Toshiba 3000-S304, Onkyo DV-CP701, Panasonic DVD-F61A and the previously mentioned PHILIPS DVD+-RW DVD8631.

BTW, although not explicitly mentioned, I am using DVD-R.

YMMV as the reviews suggest...

In the past week I have burned close to 100 of the TEON disk using a LiteOn LDW-451S and a BenQ 1620A

After each burn I have Nero verify the data and tested the discs using the Nero Disc Quality Test.

The LiteOn prefers the -R's and the BenQ the +R's. Either drive will burn either type but I get lower PI and PO errors doing as I state above.

For $5 AR you can't lose for general burning. If you are burning critical data, you might chose to buy better media, although the Memorex media I have gives higher errors on both drives. Go figure.

thought the GQ was 2.50 after rebate at fry's. bunches of people were waiting around today for them to restock the shelves. lol

i'd go with this deal though. the cmc teon uses seems like it's much better than the GQ crap from fry's.

I have the I/O Magic BTC drive thats in all the staples clearance threads, it doesn't really like the TEON media at 8x, but it seems to do 4x ok. I mostly use these for backups of my drive and mp3's and other stuff, stick with the good stuff for backing up movies.

+r were MCC003...IMHO they are not very HQ MCC003 but for $5 who can complain...in my BenQ1620 all the MCC003 have a faint ring seen at outer disc...when I burn -r or other +r no ring

-r CMC...these are not good media for important stuff

If you back up important stuff use better quality media

my liteon 1653s love this media. I'm getting aroind 2.xx average PI with these disk.

I only boight the +R media since it's MCC

My BTC doesn't like these at 8X, but it works fine at 4x, so if you're just backing stuff up it's worth it for 5 bucks. I've got like 5 spindles of these things hanging around.

Both Teon DVD-R and DVD+R 40 pack spindles I picked up this week are CMC. Don't count on MCC 003 if you buy the DVD+Rs.

my mcc003 burn with a very nice...PIE avg 2 or so, PIE of like 0.08 but the ring on the disc is a concern
