Pleasantly surprised, got to lvl 12 last night as a mystic, combat is fun, gfx are good, runs well, same lame questing system used in other mmo's though

Just hit 47 on my warrior recently it's been great so far. Got a set of very good gold swords and have been doing some pretty crazy damage since. Also made a few boss fight videos if anyone was interested.

Anyone on the Valley of Titans server? Me and a few friends setup a guild and could always use more mature, 18+ members to quest/run dungeons/chat/PK with. Guild name is "Elin Stompers". Guild vs. Guild looks fun but definitely need strength in numbers to do that...costs like 3 gold each time you declare war and you need to earn 1,000+ points in 24 hours.

I'm usually on my warrior "Deceptus" or my lancer "Decepto".

I've had 3 friends rush to 60 and quit already due to lack of content. Here I am still truckin along at levl 54 By the way, everyone who said mobs get significantly harder at level 54 was absolutely correct. It's pretty tough to solo quest now.

You don't have to get to 1000+ points to win. We were in a GvG vs some other guild that randomly declared war on us. We won 52 - 2 in the end.

Right now at 60 it's mostly just hardmodes and dungeons. Battlegrounds and pvp are being added and the second half of a big content patch that just came out in Korea should be in the US version by the end of summer. Adds random instance spawns, including raid style bosses that require 20players to take down. It usues a system similar to GW2 where it will make groups for you based on who is around/entered the rift/crevasse.

Also GvG can be big at max level, as well as the elections that are coming up soon for Vanarchs. I just want them to make a system that lets players try to "revolt" against the current Vanarch if they are doing a shitty job.

never understood this.. but then i never felt like i need to show of my car, my job, my GF, my fun stuff either.. being "first" never has been my idea of fun.. NOTHING WRONG with it.. but the downside seems far more than the upside.. paying $50 to quit in a few days? back about 12 years ago max levling in a MMORPG was impressive if done in a few days.. now.. people in WoW (and most other MMORPG's)can do it in under 24 real hours... its not special anymore.. and even less on a game that has been out (in other countries for a long time already)..

i am that idiot that playes very class to endgame, all at the same time to understand the game mechanic of each.. and it takes forever as i seldom sit inside on nice days.. or days the friends want to do stuff.. i also seldom play for more then 4 hours a time.. i would be a blob (and once again, nothing wrong with that if you want to do it , we all have diffenrt versions of fun) if i sat in front of the computer all the time.

Sadly while i like Tera's combat alot.. the complelty generic feel to the rest of its slowly draining me of my "want to play" feelings.. i have four classes in the mid teens and one over that.

Oh, really? I coulda swore on the GvG tab it said you needed lots of points. I'm always seeing messages saying guild wars ended in a draw...figured that was because they simply didn't have enough people since the point requirement was pretty high.

Nah if you hit that many points the GvG ends and you win, but if the 24hr period elapses whoever has a higher score wins. We have victories all the time (not my guild specifically just see the msgs in chat). Not too long ago the United States guild defeated North Korea.

Just bought it from Amazon for the sale price. the videos i've seen looked interesting enough. hopefully it won't turn out to be a grind-fest.

Any thoughts on classes?
I'm not really set on any type of class. In previous MMOs I have played a tank, DPS (ranged), and a healer. Never really got into mages, although I have tried to play a few but I never seem to do well with them. I think the squishy-ness is what usually turns me off to them.

The lancer seems pretty cool and may be the one I start out as. Mystic sounds interesting also.

Also, are the races split into factions and/or have class restrictions?

No restrictions at all.

Be aware that lancer is the tank in the game. Queues will be instant and you can pretty much dictate how things are done, but questing is slow as molasses as they do very little damage.

Lancers can do ok soloing if you get the right glyphs/crystals. I mean they never die, doing dmg is the main problem. But a lancer + dps or healer in a group lets you blast through quests and BAM fights.

Lancers are rare, Slayer and Zerk are the most common from my experience thus far (level 42 Warrior). I spec'ed as an evasion tank and it's an absolute blast. The combat in this game is so far ahead of the curve for MMO's, including even the upcoming Guild Wars 2.

So, people recommend this on sale at Amazon? Normal or CE (mount, two necklaces)?

I got the ce since it was only $5 more. dunno if it was worth the extra $5 or not though.

Had it been $10 or more difference, I would have just got the standard edition.

The lion mount is faster than the free/pre-order horse and the neck is nice (atk speed 4tw). It's worth the 5 bucks

forgot there is no clicking. that will take a bit to get used to.

graphics are nice. combat is different. Trying out the mystic first. I don't really get the 1st alternate ability. it drop a ball that heals you? seems kind of dumb that you have to cast it and then pick up an item, all the while fighting an enemy. don't quite get that part.

Anyone in your group can pick it up. Before bam/dungeon bosses you can drop them all over. They clear status effects too.

oh, ok...that makes more sense now.

Made 1 of every class except priest and played to about level 4 on all of them except sorcer. I kept going with that class to like level 6 or 7 so far.

Archer, Sorceror, and Lancer seem to the most fun to me so far. Might stick with sorc for a bit longer.

Well I went on a recruiting binge for mature, age 18+ members since guild vs. guild is much more fun with more people, lol. If anyone wants an invite the guild is about 50 strong now on Valley of Titans pvp server.

Guild name: Elin Stompers
Server: Valley of Titans
I'm usually on as Decepto or Deceptus...can also apply via guilds on server tab...open recruitment and I can accept whenever I log-in. We have mumble too for voice chat.

All the classes are pretty fun, and easy through, say the 20-22 range, which is when the first dungeon opens up. The game does get more difficult then, but if you've learned your class, it's not to bad.

My main is a 39 berserker, which is my favorite class. But, from all the chatter i see about classes, they are supposed to be one of the 2 lowest damage classes at end game (along with archer). I could definately see where zerkers might be at a disadvantage in pvp, at least (I dont pvp myself). They hit hard, but slow swings, plus alot of charge up skills.

As of right now, lancers are the most needed class. They can que for a dungeon, and get a group rolling immediately. Any other class (which includes healers) usually wait for 30+ minutes. This might change in the near future, as warriors are supposed to be getting a tanking buff (they are currently unable to que as a tank). I guess we'll have to just wait and see how that plays out.

I think my second favorite class is the Mystic, mostly because of the thrallls. My main in EQ was a shaman, and in WoW, I played a hunter. I see alot of people dissing the thrall of protection as being useless, but he has a boat load of health, and can tank for days. I usually just sent him in, let him build some agrro, and then i can nuke away as much as I want, with no danger at all. Perhaps some might think thats boring. Either way way though, its like playing on easy mode. Heck, It's been a couple weeks, so i don't remember to well, but I might have had him tanking bam's too. Well, I've only gotten mine up to 23, so maybe the thrall of protections usefullness changes later on, i dunno.

Probably the 1 character I dont really want to play to much is a Sorceror. They are a great class, but I dont think I'm skilled enough not to die to much playing one of those
